Monster High Wydowna Spider

Updated on June 3, 2013

SDCC 2013 Wydowna Spider is Webarella

After a long wait Monster High doll Wydowna Spider, the daughter of Arachne will be making an appearance as Webarella. Part of the Power Ghoul assortment of dolls Wydowna Spider will be available exclusively at the San Deigo Comic Con. This means if you want this spider doll you will need to attend SDCC or be willing to pay a hefty price set by scalpers after the event. Hopefully, we eventually will see the release of a basic Wydowna Spider doll.

You may remember the daughter of Arachne was one of the three character doll you could vote for in 2011 to be made into a doll. This competition also featured Headmistress Bloodgood (soon to be released) and the winner Scarah Screams (SDCC 2012 doll).

In June 25, 2012 Mattel filed for a trademark for the name Wydowna Spider for the daughter of Arachne doll.

Wydowna Spider Speculation

A rose by any other name....

Could the Wydowna Spider character be a normie? The name seems like it could be a play on two themes Winona Ryder and Black Widow Spider.

For me, the name Winona Ryder brings thoughts of her goth characters like Lydia in Beetlejuice.
