Create A Monsters University Bedroom For Your Child
Monsters University Hot New Bedroom Décor
My son couldn't wait for this movie to come out to theaters. Monsters Inc. has been one of his favorites since he started watching DVDs. When he saw the TV commercials for Monsters University he kept asking to go see is. This is a fantastic movie and everyone in our family loved it.
The movie follows Mike and Sulley in their college years as they experience life at Monsters University. The studious Mike doesn't get along with the laid back slacker Sulley. It is only when their future in school is threatened that the two bond together to get back into the Scare Program by winning the annual Scare Games. The new cast of characters is hilarious.
My son is growing out of his toddler bed and I have been looking at room dcor for a couple of months. As soon as I saw this movie and it's zany cast of characters I decided to make this the theme of his new bedroom.

Meet Mike & Sulley In Person
Mike and Sulley will be scaring up some fun this summer in Orlando, FL at Walt Disney World. Ride the Monsterail the newly decorated Monsters University themed monorail over to the Magic Kingdom and watch the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor show where new jokes have been incorporated into the show. Then meet the cast at the recreated Monsters University Student Union at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
On 5/29/13 I went to Disney's Hollywood Studios to Meet Mike and Sulley. If you don't want to be in line for hours and I do mean hours (up to 2 at one point) get in line BEFORE they are scheduled to come out. I was third in line and I got there an hour early. I think this is an easier wait than having a young child wait in line while the character is out taking pictures.
Mike and Sulley Update
June 25,2013, July 5, 2013
I just took my son to Disney Hollywood Studios. He had already met Mike and Sulley but after seeing the movie he couldn't wait to see them again. My most important recommendation is to go first thing in the morning and wait for them to begin signing autographs. Now that the movie is out everyone wants an autograph. They have a new Monsters University stage show under the hat in the front of the park. The show is funny and very entertaining..\
Over the 4th of July we returned to this theme park. The lines are even longer to get the characters autographs. Get there 30 minutes early, bring a drink and snack and sit down and wait. It is much more pleasant to do this than it is to stand in line waiting after the character comes out I have seen children wait for 45 minutes and be next in line only to be told the character is taking a 5 minute break. How frustrating for the child to watch the character walk away. It is much better to be one of the first in line. I also recommend making sure you are at the entrance and not the exit to the line because it is not marked.

Here's a party treat that young Monsters, Inc. fans are sure to have their eye on. Complete with spiky horns and toothy grins, these Mike Wazowski cupcakes are sure proof that "scary" monsters can be pretty sweet.
- Batch of baked cupcakes frosted green
- Disposable food prep gloves (for shaping and assembling the candy features)
- 2 or 3 blue Jolly Rancher Fruit Chews or similar candies
- Brown M&Ms Minis
- White Candy Melts
- Rolling pin
- Medium-size hunk of chocolate fondant
- Wax paper
- Round 1 1/2 inch fondant cutter
- White sugar pearls (found in the baking aisle of the grocery or craft store) or other similar small white candies
- 6 inch cardboard cake boards
- Slivered almonds
- Make an eye for each cupcake by pinching off a piece from a blue Jolly Rancher Fruit Chews candy and flattening it into a disk slightly bigger than an M&M's Minis. Gently press the blue disk onto a white Candy Melt, positioning it slightly off center. Set an assembled eye on the upper portion of each cupcake and press down gently to stick it in place. Next, create the candy mouths by rolling out the chocolate fondant between sheets of wax paper so that it's about 1/4-inch thick. Use the fondant cutter to cut out a few circles. Use the cutter again to cut crescent-shape grins from the circles. (Use yellow if you can't easily find the white ones. Gently press sugar pearl teeth into the upper and lower edge of the fondant. Then add a completed mouth to each cupcake. For the finishing touch, insert a pair of spiky slivered almond horns into the top of each cupcake.
