The Most Expensive Beanie Baby

Updated on February 12, 2015

What is the Most Expensive Beanie Baby?

In this lens, I will take you through the most expensive beanie baby you can buy currently.

From the Billionaire Series of beanie babies, to the Ty Web, rare Spider Beanie until finally we come to the most expensive beanie baby currently available.

Some people may take offense at the prices of these beanie babies, but if people are willing to pay that much for something, why not sell it to them. Although I don't agree with people buying all the good ones from the store trying to gouge the market, that's another story.

Ty Billionaire Beanies - Not the most expensive beanie baby

The Ty Billionaire Series are given to Ty employees each year. The ones for sale on Amazon do not list the number, to keep from exposing the employee selling said beanies. Extremely limited in numbers less than a thousand. But not the most expensive beanie baby by a longshot.

Ty Valentino Beanie - Rare Retired Beanie from 1993-1994

The Ty Valentino Beanie is not the most expensive beanie baby, but it is up there in the top 3 most expensive beanie babies I have found in my research. Limited and Numbered, this beanie was retired in 1994

The Most Expensive Beanie Baby - 1997 Princess Diana Beanie Baby

The Princess Diana, First Edition, 1997 Ty Beanie Baby is the most expensive Beanie Baby on ebay currently.

They are priced anywhere from $10,000 to $2.5 million, with some of the higher ones promising to donate to charity.

Making the Princess Diana Beanie Baby, the most expensive beanie baby.

Buyer Beware

I have to say this, beware of people selling fake or new beanies as old beanies. Do your homework before buying any beanie baby that is as expensive as these. Do research, ask for more pictures from the seller. If they can't provide any, then I would avoid that seller.

Always use safe buying practices when dealing on the internet for anything like this, as there are scam artists out there looking for the next victim.

Gee, I didn't realize these Ty bears were collectible! I once bought half a dozen of them on eBay for peanuts. I guess, they were not rare. Either that, or I made a big mistake giving them away!

@marktplaatsshop: Hi- I have a Princess Diana beanie baby. I graduate high school this year, I was born in '96 and my mom had been collecting them for me throughout my childhood. I have a princess that is very very good condition. Swing tag is completely in tact, it is made of PVC pellets and comes from indonesia. These are the rarest ones, because shortly after manufacturing began on these, Ty discontinued use of the PVC pellets and also ceased manufacturing in Indonesia. The rest of the princess bears (which is most of them) were made in China and used PE pellets. I just dug out these 40 beanie babies i have- I sure am trying to make some money on them before college.

Where I live we do not know these beanie babies, but I would like to have the Princess Diana beanie baby,

but than again who would not want to have it at this selling price you can make a fortune, if you have one

I was digging through a box in the garage and found a bubbles beanie fish that has the fin and the tag reversed... Any ideas of the value???

    • profile image

      oppie-williams-1 4 years ago

LoL to Bad all those listing are BS they are only worth what people are willing to pay for them and sorry others selling the same bears in same condition same pellet style and everything and lucky to get anyone to pay $60 for the rarest combo. Ebay is incredibly deceiving when it comes to collectible pricing.

Wow - if I had a spare million I don't think I'd be spending it on a teddy bear, I 'd want a pretty nice house to store it in for that money.

Craziness :D I recently started collecting Moshi Monsters magazines though because the codes in them will be just as valuable one day as rare Beanie Babies.

Wow! Its been so long since I've seen beanie babies!! I collected them when I was young and then decided when I was 14 that I'd had enough of them, so I walked them down to a Hobby Shop and sold them all! I had a dinosaur that was considered rare that got $1200 all on its own! It was my first real investment, so I will never forget it :) lol

My mum collects these for her little grandchildren. She still does though the youngest is nearly 19. I think she was just using the kids as an excuse, don't you. Nevertheless, I like them too, but don't tell anyone.

@sheilamarie78: To each his or her own, but there's enough to collect and to let the kids have to play with. :) Then later on in life the kid, now an adult can look at the collected beanie and say I used to have one of those. Nostalgic.

    • sheilamarie78 profile image

Hard to believe people would pay that much for a beanie baby. I'd rather see a child cuddle one than to see it preserved in this way, but that's just me.
