Why I am Addicted to Sudoku and Scrabble

Here is why I am so addicted to Scrabble and Sudoku. You see, I LOVE numbers and I am good with numbers! I guess thats why Im a financial professional.

Letters and words are my other LOVE! Thats why I am an avid reader, I love writing, I learned another language (Spanish) and I am still dabbling with a third language (French).

I also hate having to wait, so after years of waiting in lines (queues), waiting for friends and family, waiting for meetings to start and more waiting, I discovered Sudoku and now waiting is no problem because I always carry around my Sudoku in order to pass the time. As my waiting companion Sudoku is my Number 2 Favourite Game.

My Number 1 Favorite Game is SCRABBLE! Thats right! My first Scrabble Board is actually my sisters. She introduced me to Scrabble and it seems as though I became addicted to it more than her because when she migrated to England she left me her Scrabble Board.

Then a friend of mine went to the USA on vacation and, knowing how much I LOVE Scrabble, she bought me a new Scrabble board - SUPER SCRABBLE DELUXE EDITION. I was giddy with excitement from her wonderful surprise gift!

So scroll down and have some fun with me because in this lens, I will:

      a. Introduce you to some cool Sudoku and Scrabble playing tricks and techniques.

      b. Give you an opportunity to play some mini Scrabble and Sudoku from right here on this lens.

      c. Put a smile on your face with 1 or 2 game jokes.

      d. Share with you lots of interesting Sudoku and Scrabble games and accessories.

How to Solve a Sudoku Game

My 'KILLER' Sudoku

I never want to run out of Suduko!

So I have a diverse selection of Sudoku books with varying levels of difficulty - easy, simple, mild, medium, hard, difficult, ambitious, tough, fiendish, grand master and the ultimate 'Killer Sudoku". Check out some of my current Sudoku collection in the photo above!

For waiting purposes, I do the 'easy, simple, mild & medium' Sudoku because right then I just want 'mindless' distraction to relieve my boredom and pass the time quickly.

I use the 'hard, ambitious, tough, grand master and "Killer" Sudoku' as brain teasers, to challenge myself and exercise my brain. I call these more challenging Sudoku my mental gym workout! So these are done in my leisure time, in the comfort of my home and with nice listening music in the background.

I also have a Sudoku Board which allows me to place number tiles in the correct spaces instead of having to write. Cool huh? See a picture of my Sudoku Board below.

My 'SUPER DELUXE' Scrabble Board

You know that 1990s Wrigley's Double Mint Gum Advertisement that offers the chewer double refreshment compared to other gums? Well the SUPER DELUXE SCRABBLE offers the player DOUBLE ENJOYMENT!

There is double the regular amount of playing tiles - 200! Double the regular amount of spaces to play your tiles - 441! And best of all; double the regular amount of premium spaces - 200 - which means more opportunities to score big!

I'm not done yet!!! There's double the playing comfort! The raised tile spaces eliminate the aggravation of shifting tiles by keeping playing tiles firmly in place and the rotating game board allows each player to turn the Scrabble Board on his/her turn to get a full view of the Board.

Then for the days when I can't find a Scrabble partner, I also have a Scrabble CD for my PC which allows me to compete against electronic players at varying levels of difficulty.

Scrabble is my number one favorite game too but I'm lost with Sudoku and have never tried it but hear its very good brain workout that helps with keeping the brain fresher. I think I like Scrabble because I relate it to spending time playing for hours with my mom and at 86 she still beats me, she keeps her brain fresh with word find puzzles every chance she gets. Beautifully presented....let the games begin! :)
