My Top 10 Favorite Computer Games
My top 10 PC games
I absolutely love PC gaming! I don't mind playing console games at times, but I'd rather have a PC any day! The range of buttons for total control, the graphics, the whole lot. Consoles don't have that same same control in my view. Especially for first person shooters.
I've decided to make a list of my all-time favorite games, which include some oldies and some newies. I've also posted links for you to try them out yourself. :)
PC or Console? - And why?
Which do you prefer?
PC or Console?? - The great debate..
Which is your preferred system?
#1: Batman: Arkham City
1. Batman: Arkham City - My Favorite Game of all Time!
Arkham City is an amazing game! It may not look much, especially considering it's based on a movie. If you know much about games, you'll know movie games are often very average. But this whole Batman series is incredible. If you haven't already, play Arkham Asylum first; you won't regret it, and you'll be desperate to get into this next installment. It's got suspense, action, thrill, and mystery. Truly a masterpiece of a game.
Play it! - You know you want to!
#2: Assassin's Creed: Revelations
2. Assassin's Creed: Revelations
The sequel to Brotherhood, and the 4th installment in the Assassin's Creed series, Revelations expands on the previous games, with an even more exciting plot and more engaging gameplay. You have more control over the game than previously, with the ability to train new assassins, purchase businesses around the city, and customise your outfit. It's a game that you can easily get lost in for hours on end. I'm certainly looking forward to playing the next installment, Assassin's Creed III.
Catch up before number III!
#3: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Headshot!
My third favorite game of all time is for sure, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Nothing beats a good CoD sesh! I love the game-play the most, as it's so rewarding and fun. The graphics also look excellent, and I never get sick of looking at my screen when I'm playing. The single-player campaign is a little short, and hard to follow, but the missions themselves are awesome fun. The multi-player is superb, with a great leveling system, and a great range of weapons. The maps are great fun also, with a range of locations. Gets hectic on insane difficulty though...I've completed the campaign on it mind you! :P
Play Modern Warfare 2 for yourself!
#4: Assassins Creed 2
4. Assassins Creed 2 - Etzio (what's his last name?)
My fourth favorite game is Assassins Creed 2. I love the massive freedom you have to go anywhere you want, and do whatever you want. The maps are massive and great fun to explore. Graphics are beautiful, and smooth. The controls take a bit of getting used to, but work very well. There's something enchanting about the game for me. Not sure what it is. Anyhow, it's worth the play. I cannot wait for the next installment "Revelations" to come out!
Play Assassins Creed 2 yourself!
#5: Team Fortress 2
5. Team Fortress 2 - For achievement junkies
I love Team Fortress 2. I play it regularly, and it never gets old. The best thing about it, is that's its totally free! The game-play is heaps of fun, and extremely well balanced for an online shooter. The graphics are really nice, in their cartoony style. Some of my friends say the cartoon style looks stupid..what do you think? I also never get sick of unlocking achievements...ahhh achievements. I do a small jig every time the Steam notification pop up saying I got another one! xD I currently have 103 (that's only 27% of the total..but I'm getting there).
#6: Age of Empires 2
6. Age of Empires 2 - Never get's old
It's old, but I still love it. Age of Empires 2 is still a great game to get going every now and then, with really fun game-play and civilizations to choose from. Plus, there's always those awesome cheats you can use to dominate your opponents. I have so many great memories about this game. I used to play it for hours on end, getting good at particular maps. Also, my first 2 computers had the game installed, and it made them so much more magical. I used to set up ad hoc networks with my friends pcs too, and we'd have multiplayer battles. Good times ^_^
Play Age of Empires!
#7: Age of Empires 3
7. Age of Empires 3 - America anyone?
Age of Empires 3 was a great follow on to #2, and is also lots of fun. The graphics have been vastly improved, but the game-play remains similar to the others, which makes it familiar to play. This one is set in early America, with pirates, redcoats, cowboys, and indians. I think this was the first ever game I played that had half decent graphics. I'm kinda obsessed with good looking graphics, and this game is pretty nice looking. I also have good memories of playing with my friends on this game. I think that's one of the things I love so much about Age of Empires; the fact that you can sit around the computer and actually play it with your friends. They can point out strategies, enemies, idle citizens. Other games like CoD don't have this ability to let you socialize while playing. Other than voice chat of course, but it's not quite the same ;)

Age of Empires 3
#8: Need for Speed: Most Wanted
8. Need for Speed: Most Wanted - Smash up the cop cars!
Most Wanted was stock standard game back in the day, and for good reason. It's heaps fun to play, with fast, customizable cars, high speed chases, and lots and lots of cops to smash up. The min-games are also excellent fun. Cut-scenes with real acting make the story far more engaging and interesting also. And I have more memories from this game too!! Walking down memory lane writing this lens... I actually first played NFSMW when I got the demo, and installed it on my old laptop. I would play the DEMO for hours, trying to break my record for the longest racing without getting caught by the cops. I think my longest was like 1.5 hours without getting nabbed. Then I got the full version, and completed it in like 2 weeks because I was already so pro :)

#9: Plants vs Zombies
9. Plants vs Zombies - Braaaiiiiinnnnnssssss!
Yes, PvZ is a casual game, but it's lots of fun. And very, very addictive. I've played the campaign several times already and I'm still not sick of it. This is the reason it's in my top ten fave games. Funny game-play, and interesting levels make it a great game. Oh yeah, and did I mention it was addictive? It was a small craze at my school a while back, and everyone was playing it. There was a race on who could grow the tallest tree of wisdom among my friends, and I really wanted to win. So, I decided to use a less legit method of winning, and hacked the coins! I gave myself $1,000,000 and bought a lot of tree food! Got my tree up to like 1000ft tall but was discredited in the competition. xD

Play PvZ! Game of the year!
#10: Portal 2
10. Portal 2 - Zap!
Portal 2 really gets your mind going. The puzzles are lots of fun to solve, and are never so hard that you rage quit. They are the perfect difficulty. Not too hard, and not too easy. When you solve them you feel very smart ;). The 2 characters in the game (Wheatley and GLaDOS) are very funny, with lots of laugh out loud moments. I only wish it was longer. Also, you can only really play it once or twice as it's not quite the same solving puzzles the second time around. I've been getting friends to come and play it, especially if they have never heard of the game before. Then I give them a level, and see how long it takes them to figure out how to do it. I give them no instruction at ALL (like not even how to move lol). Often they make a fool of themselves, and I feel very smart for knowing how to do it! haha
