Free Printable Hidden Pictures Help with Spatial Relationships and Observation Skills

Anyone who remembers the Highlights magazine page of hidden pictures from their childhood will appreciate these printable hidden pictures. Print off some of these puzzles to help your child (and you) see beyond the obvious!

These find the objects pages can help children see things in a new way. Kids can color each hidden item as they find them using a different color, which reinforces teaching colors and following directions. And the simple thrill of finding each item is always a fun reward, too.

And if there aren't enough hidden pictures here, I've provided some hidden picture books that you can purchase so you'll always have plenty of these fun puzzles to find. These great books make great gifts.

To print this hidden picture, visit All Kids Network.

Hidden Pictures to Print - Print Your Own Worksheets

These worksheets can keep kids occupied trying to find each item that's hidden in each picture. It's fun and challenging and helps kids see things in new ways.

Highlights High Five - Can You Find the Pictures?

This is the Highlights magazine we all know and love! I remember going to the dentist and reading this fun magazine. I loved that part of the yearly trips. The rest, not so much!

You can give a gift subscription to a child in your life, and they'll receive their own special magazine in the mail each month! You'll make that child happy each month and they'll become better at observing, which is a great skill to have!

Picture Puzzles

Kids can find the objects while putting together these fun puzzles! Hidden picture puzzles are double the fun since the puzzle must be assembled before they can find the things that are hidden.

Find the Objects Books - Highlights has great puzzles.

These selections of books will keep kids busy for hours trying to find the shoe in the tree, the baseball glove in the bush, and the face in the water.

Do you remember doing these as a kid? And loving it? Well, I do! And I know that kids today like them just as much.

Links to Find More Hidden Pictures From Highlights and More!

I love taking advantage of the free resources available online. I print worksheets for my grandkids when they come over and they love something new to work on.

Do you know a kid--big or little--who would love to search for the objects hidden among a larger picture? Maybe that someone is you!

Optical Illusions - Are your eyes tricking you or is it the picture?

These links take you to hidden pictures that you have to rest your eyes, glance away from the image then refocus (or go fuzzier still). Optical illusions aren't hidden pictures in the strictest sense but they do help you and children see things in a new way. Studies have shown that doing anything new or looking at things in a new way helps our brains work better so have some fun!

MindWare Color Counts and Hidden Transformations - Color the page to reveal the picture!

MindWare books are really stellar! The quality of the pictures is good and they're fun to work!

Keep kids occupied away from the computer and television with these fun books that let their brains work while playing.

Strewth. I think I have got there but there are still three or four clues where the wordplay eldeus me. This is a tricky crossword with some brilliant clues and some less than brilliant words (though Anax did give us fair warning in the introduction that there were a lot of obscure words. Many thanks to Anax for the crossword. When I have spotted the theme I will probably kick myself but my brain is now in shutdown mode after solving the clues!

What a fabulous lens. The simple things in life are often the best, especially to keep children occupied, the challenge is better than any DS game. The deer's head is on the trunk of the tree.

About 20 years ago you got these posters of e.g. a forest and then there were birds, animals, trees, flowers, a mountain in the background, a rainbow, etc. We had to sell these posters to gain money for the school, but I always bought one of the posters for myself! I cannot however find them anywhere! PLEASE tell me someone knows what I am talking about and knows where in South Africa I can get them?

We ordered Highlights just for the hidden pictures. My boys, now grown, will still do hidden pictures in the physician's office. They still find it annoying when some child has circled the pictures and ruined it for other "children". I don't think they ever looked at any other part of Highlights. I decided I'd read the magazine cover to cover since we paid for the subscription! Admittedly, I like hidden pictures, I Spy is the very best, and Where's Waldo is good too.
