Pink Panther Pinkadelic Pursuit

This lens is dedicated to everybodys favorite and only pink panther the Pink Panther hes been around sinse the 1960s and as had many things come hes way like comics films tons of merchandise and yes even staring in a few of hes own games preaty amazing for a Panther that was Born in the 60s

Lets take a further look into hes gaming adventure the Pink Panther in hes Pinkadelic Pursuit for the Playstation 1

Pink Panther Pinkadelic Pursuit Intro

For the Playstation 1

The Pink Panther

His first appearance was in The Pink Phink created by Blake Edwards, Friz Freleng and Hawley Pratt it was voiced by Rich Little.

The Pink Panther is the main and title character in the opening and closing credit sequences of every film in The Pink

Panther series his popularity spawned a series of theatrical shorts, merchandise, comic books and television cartoons.

He starred in 124 shorts either theatrical or televised 10 television shows and three prime time specials.

The animated Pink Panther appeard in the live action films directed by Friz Freleng it was such a success with audiences

and United Artists that the studio signed Freleng and his DePatie-Freleng Enterprises studio to a multi-year contract for a

series of Pink Panther theatrical cartoon shorts.

The first entry was in 1964 The Pink Phink featured the Panther harassing a little white moustached man who is actually a

caricature of Friz Freleng this character is officially known as The Man which is rather funny the panther is constantly

trying to paint the little mans blue house in pink lol.

The Pink Phink won the 1964 Academy Award for Animated Short Film

In an early series of Pink Panther animated cartoons the Pink Panther remained silent

Rich Little provided the Panther's voice in the latter shorts

All of the animated Pink Panther shorts utilized the distinctive jazzy theme music composed by Henry Mancini for the 1963

feature film

In this side-scrolling action platformer, you control the Pink Panther in his quest to find hidden treasures.

You'll be travelling through colorful 3D environments and themes including Medieval, Underwater and Outer Space.

Many zany objects and gadgets can be found along the way to help you reach your objectives even though you don't actually

put these items into full use.

You'll be using lampshades, paint, fire extinguishers, magnets and even bowling balls.

Disguise yourself, blend into the background, yup in certain areas if you press the action button you can turn into different

objects to blend into the environments, disarm traps and fight off enemies.

Pink Panther Pinkadelic Pursuit

The Pink Panther is a side scrolling game with little mini quests to do in each level.

For example, find a bomb, run it to some debris, leave it, walk away, and wait for it to explode.

This then opens the path to steal a pie from a chef, and run that to a passenger. That also opens a path.

Go into a level, find some item, bring it to a certain spot then steal something and run it to a certain spot.

The game does give you a roller blading level which consists of going to the right and jumping over obstacles/pits which is

lots of fun and often challenging think Donkey Kong Country 1 mine carts hehe.

Those roller blading levels are the highlight of the game no doubt.

Pink Panther for the Playstation 1 is a game based on the Pink Panther cartoon character.

Unfortunately this game falls a little short for a game in the action genre except for a few really good levels.

Abit disappointing since this was one of the last generation Playstation 1 games and there is such good character material

to build on.

Also let me say if you're not a Fan of old school 2d side-scrolling platform games, then NO, you will not like the game.

But if you're like me and grew up in the NES/GENESIS/SNES era, then from the moment you pick up the controller you'll

realize you came across a game that isn't too bad a little gem even if the game wont last long or offer that much replay value.

This is 2D side-scrolling, mission-orientated game in the 16-bit era everything looks smoothly textured, not

much blockyness going on.

Pink Panther Pinkadelic Pursuit Final Thoughts

The controls are good the gameplay revolves around you doing different tasks, stealing different objects and bringing

them to a new location to advance further.

For example, in a level, a dog won't let you pass until you bring him a cheeseburger. So now you go steal a burger from

some dude guarding it, and the chase begins. If you get caught, you don't die but he takes the burger back from you and

brings it back to the original location. It sounds simple because it is yet it can be fun to run around the level like

an idiot.

Gameplay simple gameplay good controls engaging throws a few twists that keep you just about entertained

Sounds/Music the music features classic tunes from the cartoon the theme is the same you'd expect from a pink Panther

Product my favorite tune is the skatting level with the train tracks its also my favorite level.

Replayability Not much really after completing a level, you have the option of re-playing it again and beat your times to

complete it, also there are easter eggs hidden all over the place you maybe didn't catch the first time around but not really

worth spending to much time on.

Overall You have to take it for what it's worth, we're not talking groundbreaking gameplay,

a good game that any fan of 2D platformers would be sure to appreciate for quick boring sunday.

Graphics The graphics are just like if you was watching a Pink Panther cartoon sometimes rather bland but on the ice rink

level for example its nicely colorful.

The 3D backgrounds in some levels look nice.

It is apparent that most of the time was spent on the Pink Panther model and less time on on other areas.

There are only a few tunes that are good in this game but all in all, the sounds are pretty forgettable.

Extras There is a cheats menu you can get after beating the game There are also pictures in a gallery to unlock if you so

choose. To get these pictures you need to reaply levels to collect coins the coins can be spent on buying pictures for your

gallery which can be fun while it lasts and gives you and excuse to play this game more.

I love the Pink Panther cartoons, and had no idea there was a game! My favourite PS1 game was Harvest Moon. This one sounds interesting though. I love simple games that you can just kill some time with if there's nothing else really to do. Thanks for sharing :)

Not many video games seem to be based on characters from my youth. I think this sounds like one I would enjoy. Thumbs up!

I didn't realize the Pink Panther had starred in his own video game.
