Queen Maleficent Character Dolls

Updated on October 14, 2014

Maleficent Character Dolls from Disney's Smash Hit Film!

The big bosses at Disney have done it again! They've brought us a mega smash, box office hit! A live action film, featuring one of Disney's most iconic villains, Maleficent!

As if that wasn't enough, the film stars global super lady, Angelina Jolie! Wow! I've been really excited about this film for ages. I'm an animator, and it's a given that I love all animations, but when they go real-life, live action, I love them just as much.

With all fantastic Disney films, come fantastic merchandise...and the dolls and toys for Disney's Maleficent is no different. Have you seen them yet? Well, if not, don't worry, I've collected some of the best Maleficent dolls available to buy online, and featured them right here, for your visual (and hoarding) pleasure! Be sure to book mark this page, because I'll be keeping it up to date with more of the fantastic dolls, as and when they become available.

Maleficent Royal Coronation Collector Doll! (The Angelina Doll)

One thing I love about dolls and merchandise for films, is the quality...and oh my fabulous is this Maleficent doll? It looks soooo much like Angelina Jolie, it's unreal! I love it! Here, the styling of the doll, is very much in her true, original form - including make the lovely woodland fairy that she is.

The detail here is phenomenal. If you're a fan of Maleficent, then you need this gorgeous doll in your collection. It's not just a toy, it's a work of art!

Maleficent Maleficent! Gorgeous Maleficent Doll!

If you're looking a Maleficent doll, but looking to spend a little less than a premium price, then this could be the one for you.

Still featuring beautiful details that you would expect in a class brand, such as Disney, but with a price tag that could be a bit more plattable for those little younger fans, that want to get their hands on those film-tie-in toys.

The styling here is very much of the Maleficient, after her traumatic experience with Stefan, and how she transforms herself as she gets older - looking like the true villain (but of course, we know, all is not necessarily as it seems). Either way, her look is elegant and simple, yet unmistakeably derived from the original Disney movie.

Check out some of the fantastic Maleficent trailers!

If you've yet to behold the wonder of this utterly gorgeous film...feast your eyes on some of the official Maleficent trailers. Enjoy :)

As if one Maleficent Funko doll wasn't enough...there are more out there to collect! This time, more like the original Disney film, rather than Angelina's live action film.

Disney Royal Coronation Maleficent and Diaval Dolls

In this set, you're getting not one, but two - yes, two - fabulous dolls. Here, you're getting the fantastical sculpted Angelina Jolie doll and the beautifully made Diaval doll. It's a shame they can't make Diaval switch into another animal doll, but hey!

I love these characters as a duo - the perfect partners. Diaval becomes her wings, and also any other creature with an ability that Angelina needs at that time. Both make the perfect gift or addition to any fan of the film, or indeed any fan of Angelina herself.

Disney's Maleficent Film Collection Doll 12"

Who knew that the villain in one of the most beloved fairy tales, Sleeping Beauty, could created such a wonderful piece of art! Yes, that's right, these figures featured on this page, aren't just for playing with, they're like a little piece of art to add to any discerning collection of Hollywood memorabilia!

She is but another misunderstood character...

In the same way that the Wicked Witch of the West was given her own story, letting us into her background and what happened to make her wicked (of course, if she was indeed, wicked), this feature from Disney, also allows us to examine the qualities of good and evil.

We all know Maleficent as the trouble making queen fairy, who causes mayhem when she casts a spell over the Sleeping Beauty - but what actually made all this happen? Well, we know she wasn't invited to the christening, and really, that was all we knew - we thought her being shunned by family, was the reason to take this awful revenge...but was there more to it?

Of course there was. Maleficent had a troubled existence - and of course, I'm not going to add spoilers here, but it certainly makes you question whether or not you feel sympathy for the character. I love it when people take a traditional story and turn it on its head, and that is exactly what has happened here. Highly creative, engaging and beautiful story telling put together this tale, that lets us asks the question - does she really deserve to have the evil perception she has? Or have we all been a victim to fairy tale propaganda? Of course we have! Who isn't a victim of fairy tale propaganda?

The best thing is, this retelling of a classic tale - from a different character's perspective, opens the door for many other stories to be retold. Maybe Uncle Scar wasn't that bad? And maybe Jafar had a greater reason to get the genie to himself? Only time will tell which other stories we get told to alter our views on our most hated villains!

Tell me what you thought of the movie? Did you like Angelina? Did you like the story? Was it what you were expecting?

What did you think of the Maleficent film?
