A Mom's Review of Skylanders SWAP Force - Xbox 360
Skylanders SWAP Force Encourage Imagination
Skylanders SWAP Force is my third purchase in the Skylanders franchise. After watching my daughter play the first two Skylanders video games, I bought this third installment with confidence that my nine-year-old daughter would love it just as much as the original and the Giants version, and guess what? She does.
How SWAP Force Differs from the Original and Giants
At first, I wasn't quite sure how this new version, SWAP Force changed from the first two versions, but after just examining the box, I figured it out. In SWAP Force, players can create their very own characters. How does this work? Well, each SWAP Force Skylanders pulls apart to allow players to create a truly unique player. When this new player is placed on the game portal, the new character shows up on the screen.
Starter Kit comes with Three Characters and the Game
When Giants was released, I also purchased the starter kit. I like doing it this way because I don't need a new game portal every time, but I do need new characters and the game disk. Better yet, buying the starter kit is cheaper than buying individual characters and the game separately. Since three Skylanders were included with the starter kit purchase, my daughter was immediately able to start creating her unique Skylanders.
What to Expect from the Game
One of the best things about the Skylanders franchise is that parents can let their kids play this game and not worry about them being exposed to inappropriate content. This is true because there is no blood, cussing, or other behavior that is rampant in other modern games.
