Step2 Kangaroo Climber - Why Your Toddler Needs It

Updated on August 1, 2015

Why The Need For The Step2 Kangaroo Climber

The Step2 Kangaroo Climber is best bought for a toddler. When your baby reaches toddlerhood, you can be sure that she will start climbing all over the place as her curiosity takes hold. It is also the time that her motor skills need to be honed as she learns how to stand, crawl and balance.

This climber combines climbing, crawling, sliding and hiding to make it seems like an integrated little activity center. Your kid will love it because there is a slide for a little thrill, a room underneath the platform to crawl in and hide, holes to peep through, a door to open and close as well as a small area on the platform to just sit and enjoy a book or two. In fact, if your kid is a little active, she can run about around the climber as she slides down and goes to the back again for another round.

Basically, all these help in a toddler's development apart from giving her a safe place to climb and play. A toddler will climb on anything she can and by having the Step2 Naturally Playful Kangaroo Climber, at least you can let her play safely there rather than letting her climb onto tables and chairs. Where big toy purchases are concerned, a climber is a perfect start for a toddler.

Indoor Fun With The Step2 Kangaroo Climber

The Step2 Kangaroo Climber is perfect for both indoor and outdoor play. When the weather gets too cold outside, you can always bring it in and set it in a corner. Because the slide is designed for a toddler, it is not too long that it takes up too much space. Furthermore, the colors of the climber are neutral rather than bright pink or blue that make it hard for it to blend in with your living space.

Given that it is more suitable for a young child, you might not even want to put it in your yard for the time being until your toddler is a little older. Having it indoors means she can play with it whenever she likes and it is also easier to set up a padded playmat around the climber to minimize the impact of any falls.

A Similar Climber With An Affordable Price

The Step 2 Naturally Playful Panda Climber is similar to the Kangaroo Climber with a crawl through tunnel, archway and slide. Made with durable plastic, it has snap on pieces for easy assembly.

Want a slide that is not so quickly outgrown? The big folding slide is it!

Why You Should Buy The Step2 Kangaroo Climber

One reason why you should buy the Step2 Kangaroo Climber is because of its easy assembly. If it can't fit through your door, it is easy to take it apart and re-assemble if you want to move it from your yard to inside your home and vice versa. It is durable and should be able to take the wear and tear of kids jumping on it, which is only to be expected from older children. Of course, this is best for a toddler, and older kids, in fact, may be happier with the Step2 Naturally Playful Big Folding Slide or the Little Tikes Double Decker Super Slide.

As mentioned, for a toddler, climber is a start. Toys should be age-appropriate and while you may want to consider something that will not be so quickly outgrown, you also have to take into consideration the developmental milestones of your child. Therefore, if you want your toddler to have a safe place to help with her climbing, crawling and motor skills development, then this climber is a suitable one. It will also offer her much fun as she learns how to hide and peep at you through the holes!

Ive had a step 2 kangaroo climber for 7 + years. We purchased it new when my youngest grandson was 18 months old and then my second grandson was 9 months old. No, they were not to young. At first trying to climb on it was a challenge but less than a month they were all over it. Something they were on every single day. Then a few years later came another grandson and the next year a granddaughter. This was an inside toy, but could have been used outside. I just recently put the climber on our closed in porch. 7 + years of every day play. Well worth the money, plus all the years of enjoyment for my grandkidos.
