Team Fortress 2 - Free to Play!

Updated on October 14, 2011

Team Fortress 2

Are you looking for a decent FREE multiplayer fps because you can't afford Call of Duty? Look no further. Team Fortress 2 is the game for you! It's addictive, has hours of playabilty, it's multiplayer, it's hilarious, and (did I mention) it's FREE!!!

History

Team Fortress is a quite old video game, first developed as a free mod for Quake. Then, in 1998, the development team was employed by Valve Corporation. In 1999 Team Fortress Classic was released, which looked drastically different to what it is today. From there, Team Fortress evolved into what it is today, and became free-to-play on June 23, 2011.

Gameplay - Menu

Team Fortress 2 is played through the Steam client, which you must have an account with to play TF2 (but don't worry, it's free).

Training

There is an extensive training mode for you to try out before you head into a live match. You can try several different classes as well as play a few practice matches against computer bots.

You should mention mods in your game modes section. More than half of the persistant servers out there are mod based gameplay. Like Zombie Fortress :D
