F-8 Crusader had created history as the first aircraft that flying at supersonic speed with just single engine. After F-8 Crusader, all the U.S. fighter had switch their weapons to guided missiles where guns were used as primary weapons before this. In other word, F-8 Crusader was the last carrier based jet fighter that uses guns as its weapon.

This single engine fighter had played a very important role in both the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Viet Nam War. Although many fighter look similar, but the F-8 Crusader can be easily distinguished from others fighter from its unique "tilt wing".

AD-6 Skyraider was considered as the last attack aircraft flew with propeller before the emergence of the jet aircraft. With it ability of slow cruising and incredible speed, the AD-6 Skyraider had become the support of the friendly ground forces with high accuracy. One thing that you should know about AD-6 Skyraider is that it is powered by a piston engine just like our cars. Hard to believe isn't it?

You will need some patience to build this model aircraft where it come with 79 parts and it required you to have at least a level 2 skill. Gluing and painting for this model aircraft is crucial to make this look appealing.

I personally like this aircraft model where it is colorful and every part were made with detail.

The AD-4 Skyraider - The earlier version of AD-6 Skyraider

In this video you will be able to watch how a AD-4 Skyraider startup and takeoff. AD-4 was an earlier version of AD-6, where it was a modified and improved fighter.

Imagine the normal speed that you drive your car are almost 16 times slower that Bell X-1 if you drive at the speed of 100km/h. For a 500km distance, it will takes you 5 hours to reach the destination when you drive at 100km/h where Bell X-1 only need about 19 minutes to reach the same destination.

Revell has now made the Bell X-1 aircraft model kit with a full detailed cockpit with optional pilot figure. It also has an optional rocket engine and an opening cockpit door. This aircraft model kit comes with total of 50 parts and it required you to have at least skill level 2 to be able to complete this model.
