The story is about the mysteries of Iron: No iron production and the iron that is already in Swordcoast is crumbling, You get to investigate and find out it is a plot to incite a war with the Kingdom of Amn. Baldur's Gate II is the classical improsined =>escaped =>kill whoever imprisoned you-tale. The Engine has been used for other popular RPG's like Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment.

Chrono trigger

Chrono Trigger
Chrono Trigger
Chrono Trigger is one of the most popular SNES RPG Games (2.65million copies sold). It's a story time-traveling, the Hero: Chrono traveling back and forth in time to prevent horrible things from happening. The main new feature in htame is the Active Battle System: Timers run for the characters, you can speed up that time when advancing your character and thus decreasing time for each action, giving you and edge over a slow opponent. In 2008 a remake was made on the Nintendo DS.

Diablo

Diablo III
Diablo III
Diablo is the prime example of an action-RPG: lots of combat, and the typical isometric point-and-click view. One of the best selling PC RPG's wich totals over 7 million including the Diablo II and expansions. It's all about fighting the creatures of hell to save the Kingdom. Loads of accesories, weaponry and armour to play. The sequel really made it a classic with the free battle.net to play multiplayer, even today one million players play it daily over the blizzard servers. In 2008 Blizzards announced the third installment, wich is expected to be released the end of this year.

Elder Scrolls

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Greatest Hits) - Playstation 3
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Greatest Hits) - Playstation 3
The Elder Scrolls: Arena was the first one in the series and it took two years to develop(1992-1994) wich in those days was very long. Not so great, but the sequel The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall was one of the first to have a full 3D environment in a world about the size of Great Britain! The most famous one in the serious is the third game: The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (Aka. Morrowind). The Elder Scrolls are a bit like the Oracle of Delphi: their meanings can be interpreted in different ways. The world is vast, the history of the continent and world is vague, leaving it open to many ways of interpretation and open mysterious gaps. The latest version of is Skyrim.

Final fantasy

Final Fantasy XIII - Playstation 3

The Light Warriors go on several quests in amazing worlds, rescuing princesses, killing vampires, fire elemental fiends and defeating Chaos, an evil mastermind who created a timeloop. Alas by defeating him the Light Warriors will get no credit since everything returns back to before things went awry. Read the full review on Final Fantasy on Gryviews

Might & Magic

Might and Magic: Platinum Edition - PC
Might and Magic: Platinum Edition - PC
Might & Magic a the core for many games to come, ranging to the fabled Heroes of Might & Magic to Dark Messiah of Might & Magic. The original games were more of dungeon crawlers: Large Worlds though: having a group of characters to battle your way to the endgoal. Lots of sequels were made till 2002 when 3DO sold the franchise. An iconic game series that every RPG-lover should have played.

Neverwinter Nights

Neverwinter Nights Diamond
Neverwinter Nights Diamond
Neverwinter Nights, heavily based on the Dungeons & Dragons world, is an action RPG where you have to save humanity, first of a plague and in the sequel the character has to fight against the evil King of Shadows. Neverwinter Night 2 was planned as sort of MMORPG but instead of having a ventralised servers, players had to do the serving themselves. Both games are very worthy of spending days of time on. An MMORPG based on the city of Neverwinter will be released end of 2011!

Rogue

Rogue, the grandfather of all computer RPG's back in the days when Games still spoke.

The first computer game with graphics: a dungeon crawler where many games are based on including nethack and Dwarven Fortress.

The goals is to go through the dungeon and fight loads of fantasy monsters to retrieve the Amulet of Yendor.

Not very complicated at all.

Zelda

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Zelda, not to be confused by the music piece with the same name by Percy Fletcher, is a RPG that was featured on Nintendo game systems. It was in direct competiition with the Final Fantasy series. Link's main goal during the games is to save the world or at least Zelda, a princess. With pretty music, it's tough, lots of secrets, and enjoyable for young and old. Oh forgot! Pretty music!

Diablo 3 is horrible and it was such a letdown. Diablo 1 or 2 should be on that list instead of that garbage.
