Toys For Children

Updated on February 6, 2015

Toys for Children

What is your favorite toy to give as a gift? Is it a doll, bike, train, a game? I am hoping to show some new toys that are on the market this year. I will include some old time favorites as well. I am also interested in what your favorite toy was as a child.

I think the best toys around will either do one of two things:

1. Stimulate the mind

2. Exercise the body

What favorites do you have? Let me know if you have found something worth sharing (leave your suggestions at the guest lens).

I'd love to have that big orange ball!

I could tell my parents hated me. My bath toys were a toaster and a radio. Rodney Dangerfield

    HearthSong

HearthSong 16-Piece Large-Scale Habitadule Construction pieces are a great way to use your imagination to creat structures. My granddaughters have a smaller set which gives them a taste of structure creation. Remeber back when we had Tinker Toys (still do) and Erector Sets?

    Connectagons

There are wonderful building dics that are so colorful and come in several themes. They are easy to store (bag) and can be done at the floor or table. Each one has 8 slots and various bright colors. Build taller or wider or rounder.... They suggest ages 4 and up! Great for adults too.

    Toys Alive

    Shirlene Britstra

At the end of the hall under the stair

The toy box-silent-near the old rocking chair.

The children tucked in, kissed goodnight,

Stories read, off with the light.

    Sshh!

What's that faint stirring out there

At the end of the hall, near the old rocking chair?

Something magical, all's not what it seems,

    Toys Alive? - perhaps it's a dream!

    Sshh!

    The witching hour, clocks chime,

Toys come out for play time!

All through the night, so much fun,

Then, once more quiet with the rising sun!

    Sshh!

I would love to hear what your child wants for Christmas this year?
