There are many factors that influence the value of Ty Beanie Babies.

As with most collectibles there a few factors which can influence the value or worth of a Ty Beanie Baby. These are the most common reasons why a collectible becomes valuable:

1. Desirability: Logically the more desirable a collectible is, then the higher a dollar value that a collector will be willing to pay for it, thus increasing the worth of the object. Desirability is one of the major reasons why the first wave of Ty Beanie Baby sellers could command such high prices from those who were hoping to purchase their collectible Beanie babies. Ty Beanie Baby collectors wanted to own the entire collection of these tiny adorable bean filled plush toys.

2. Errors in production are usually caught quickly but a few products can sneak through to the consumer before a flaw in the system is repaired. These unintentionally rare collectibles are generally highly sought after and can be very valuable items. An example of this is Pincers the lobster who had his tag printed as Punchers the lobster for a very brief production period.

3. Age: The age of a collectible will generally affect it's availability, and help to raise it's desirability, and market value. The older or rarer an item becomes then the more valuable it will also be. Children have a tendency to play with their toys and this decreases the number of these items which remain in mint condition. This is very true of the original nine Ty Beanie Babies which were sold largely to children.

Use the Ty Beanie Baby Encyclopedia to research your Beanie babies value. Discover the little things which can so greatly influence the worth of a Ty Beanie Baby.

Keep your Ty Beanie Baby product value guides handy.

Keep your Ty Baby beanie research guides handy so that you can look up any new items as you discover them.

Having more than one collectors price value guide on Ty Beanie Babies is a good idea. When you find an author who's work you find to be very inclusive seek out further books on your collectible beanies by this same author.

Research is always well worth the small amount of time and money that you spend participating in it. Researching collectibles can save you, or earn you, thousands of dollars in return.

The Ty Beanie Baby tag increases the babies worth.

Keep your tags on your Ty Beanie babies. A Beanie baby with a Ty tag can be worth up to fifty percent more than the same beanie without a tag.

The Ty tag contains valuable information and is a method by which you can identify the age and rarity of your beanie baby.

Well known for their excellent toy field guides the Ty Beanie Baby Green Book Guide is a must to check out. This toy reference book can be a great beginning place to research the availability of your Beanie babies. Acquire as much knowledge as you can about the Ty Beanie babies that you are collecting so that you can then determine what each beanie baby may be worth.

Availability of mint condition Ty Beanie Babies.

Many of the first batches of Ty Beanie Babies to hit store shelves remain rare, but with subsequent waves of Beanie Baby releases collectors began to purchase them with the soul intention of packing them away, but this trend actually lowered the value of many styles of this once highly collectible tiny plush toy.

With so many of these retired Beanie Babies still available for purchase in mint condition, most styles found their worth lowering in desirability, and value.

I started to collect Beanie Babies after my niece bought me the giraffe one for my birthday, and since I had grandchildren I started to collect them, BUT I never gave them to them. I just started to put them away. Now the kids are 18 and older and I have a 150 Beanie Babies in excellent condition to sell in my now old age. I a now checking the prices out and maybe help them with their college expenses.

A dear friend passed away, and left behind, many, many babies... would like to know witch ones anyone is looking for. As this is my husbands first wife, and we are paying the expenses. She, and husband have 3 boys, all adults, but could use a financial boost. I would , help in anyway , I can....she loved beanies, as I love coupons. Thanks

@Lorelei Cohen: I still have my toy collections from when I was a child that my children play with now. Things back then were made to last, and last they do! I love so many of the Beanie Babies, they are adorable, and so compact that we can have hundreds of them without even realizing it.

My favorite beanies are of course the flat ones. I find them adorable and so easy to display. I keep a couple near my desk but my grandchildren somehow managed to sneak the remaining 35 - 50 beanie babies into their sleep over room. I don't mind sharing. It seems to be a family tradition as the toy collections go.

He does not have computer access. Is there a site which would provide a price list which I could print out and give to him to help determine value. Most are absolutely mint condition, she had 5 storage boxes filled and most of the beanies were stored in individual bags. Can anyone help, please email me at jzimmerman@hughes.net. Thank you.

Hmmm, I am not sure that I saw those in Slovenia ... but they are sure interesting. I am wondering when our sellers will bring them oversea.

This looks so very nice with your pretty face to the side of it. Love my beanie baby collection tons and I don't think that my grandkids would let me sell it if I wanted to.

@anonymous: You are so right... at the price that the Beanie Baby's sell at, they are (in comparison) an extremely cheap collectable.

@ElizabethSheppard: There are still a lot of hard core Beanie Baby goers out there who collect every one that comes out... once it gets into your blood it's hard to get out I guess lol.

I think the Beanie baby craze is over... BUT it could come back someday. I think these little cute animals are really nice. I got some from a friend and look forward to looking them up someday. Thanks for sharing this info!

Beanie baby toys are soooo popular, and they are reasonably priced, really. They make such great gifts for the kids, and adults too! :)

I used to collect when I was little, but like most childhood hobbies I eventually gave it up.
