Vintage Planters

Updated on October 7, 2014

Ceramic Planters, Figurine Planters, Vintage Planters

Vintage planters, like this rooster planter, are some of my favorite collectibles. The best part of planters is that they often are sweet and depict a cute animal and they hold things, not just plants!

I have a small collection of ceramic planters, and my favorites are the figural or figurine planters.

Most of these figurines are animals, but I have an awfully cute boy standing by a tree stump. He's right down there on the page; take a look!

A friend gave me this adorable figural planter. He sits in my living room so I can keep an eye on him.

Some vintage planters have marks on the bottom. These marks can help identify who made the planter, when it was made, and the model or name of the planter. Not all planters have marks.

Scanning identification books is an excellent way to find out which pottery company made a vintage planter, when, and if the planter has a name.

Mark: USA 33 (I think that's it; the number is very faint)

I love vintage planters. My favorites are the nursery rhyme collection. I collect mostly Napco and Lefton. Nice hub.

I love the cat with the cart. For several years now I have been collecting animal planters. I just love them for their whimsical charm. I have so many I could set up my own shop--but I never will, they are a wonderful hobby and is one of the things that brightens my day.

I love the ducks, the blue cat, and the rooster! I have some cute little flowerpots, but nothing quite like these vintage planters. They're adorable!

I like a bunch of your vintage planters. I don't have any, I'm not much at keeping plants alive.

My sister collects the McCoy ones and starts new plants in them to give to friends and neighbors. She has a good eye for vintage items.
