Wooden toys versus Plastic toys

I always wanted to explore this topic. Nowadays, most baby toys are made from plastic and in most definitely 90 percent of them are made in China. Many toy producers do not have strict quality guidelines and you can not be sure about the quality. What is your opinion? What kinds of toys do you buy for your children and grandchildren?       I tried to weigh in on the debate, but Squidoo's tenacles are in a bunch, so no place to leave my opinion. Although, I do like wooden toys! Great debate.
