11 Quotes to Inspire Positivity in Your Life

Although I'm human, I try to live a life of positivity and happiness. I enjoy seeing others find joy and live their best lives.

There’s so much negative energy in our lives today. From television and movies, to horrific events around us everyday, it’s no wonder so many people struggle to stay positive. Being optimistic, although a wonderful concept, is easier said than done sometimes. Luckily, inspiration is everywhere. And much like positivity itself, if we seek it, we will find it.

I have compiled a list of 11 of my favorite positivity quotes to help you keep your head above the water if everything and everyone around you seem to be sinking into the depths of negativity.

1. “You cannot have a positive life with a negative mind.” - Joyce Meyer

Try an experiment. Think about yellow cars. What you will notice is that you start seeing yellow cars. If we focus on negative, that is all we will see is the negative side of everything. If we try to focus on the positive, it will become more prominent. It’s easier said that done, especially when something challenges us. But overtime, you will get well practiced in it and it will actually become easier.

2. What consumes you mind, consumes your life

I really believe we attract what we put out into The world and we become what we think about. There is a belief that it all has to do with energy and energy connects all of us to everything. Now that doesn’t mean that if you’re positive, optimistic and are kind, the universe will always reciprocate these things back to you, but you will be able to handle life when it’s not so great.

3. “The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” - Dolly Parton

We all know Miss Dolly Parton has a way with words being the icon that she is. She also knows a thing or two about staying humble, kind, and positive. We have to take the good with the bad. Nothing is perfect, not even a rainbow. A rainbow is a direct result of some pretty nasty weather. You can wish the bad weather never existed but if it didn’t, you would never see a rainbow. Not to mention, we would be in drought and that can cause such devastation. So not only does the rain have one benefit, it has several! That is true for many of life’s bad moments. There is a trade off and so much good comes out if bad things. Sometimes it can change the course of your life and open you up to things, people, and places you would have never otherwise known.

4. “Sometimes you climb out of bed in the morning and you think, I’m not going to make it, but you laugh inside-remembering all the times you’ve felt that way.”

If you are reading this article there are two facts 1) you're still here and 2) you're trying to be better. We don’t give ourselves enough credit for being able to get through tough things. The truth is, you’re success rate gets a perfect score because you’re still living and breathing. So keep that in mind if you don’t think you can through a tough time or bad event.

5. “You can’t make positive choices for the rest of your life without an environment that makes those choices easy, natural, and enjoyable.”— Deepak Chopra

Sometimes, no matter how positive we are, an overly toxic environment can get the better of the best of us. It’s good if we get rid of as many obstacles we can in our lives and give ourselves the gift of good. We deserve it.

6. “Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will.”— Zig Zigler

The energy is equal whether you are positive or negative. Why not choose to be positive? The biggest difference will be in the result. People use so much energy being negative and it is extra draining on everybody around them and themselves, whether theyre aware of it or not. Positivity is energizing. If it annoys the people around you, you may need different people around you.

7. "Every positive thought is a silent prayer which will change your life." - Bryant McGill

This goes back to the idea I mentioned earlier about how we get what we think about. If you are a religious person, this would be like prayer. We pray for good things, yet sometimes we think of bad things happening. Our prayers and thoughts are kind of the same thing. Make them good always.

8. "If you stay positive in a negative situation, you win"

We can’t let the bad moments and times in our life win. We must always look to the bright side and it’s even more important when things are tough. Some people can stay positive in the worst of situations and others can be negative in the best of situations. If you can get through something really hard and stay even relatively positive a good portion of the time, you take back your control. It then makes you believe even more knowing you got through it, persevered, and used the one tool you always have: your thoughts.

9. - “Being positive isn’t pretending that everything is good. It’s seeing the good in everything.”

To be positive isn’t the same as being in denial about something. We can acknowledge a bad situation or event but choose to see the positive side. It is a great was of coping with life’s blows.

10. “Promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate.” - Zig Ziglar

If we put as much energy into loving as much as hating, or solving problems rather than complaining, what amazing things could we accomplish? Isn’t that a beautiful thought. Even though we will never have every human on the planet doing that, it can start with you and me. We can change how our home and work place feel by being aware.

11. "Stay away from negative people, they have problem for every solution." - Albert Einstein

Well said Mr. Einstein! One of my favorite quotes because we've all been around someone like this. They perpetually complain and drone on about their problems. When you offer up solutions, they snap back with a million reasons why non of them will work. They can't seem to fix it, yet they won't just let it go and stop complaining about it. This isn't even venting, it's just plain complaining. It's miserable being around someone like this. Every problem does in fact have a solution even if that solution is to change how you think and feel about it. That's the epitome of positivity!

I'd love to hear from you!

I believe we can spread positivity two ways. One way is by being positive and the other is surrounding ourselves with other positive people.

What are your favorite positivity quotes? What helps to keep you on track when staying positive and being optimistic is most challenging? Post in the comments below. I’d love to hear from you!

Great article with uplifting tips to inspire us all to be more positive. A quote I refer to is "Count the blooming flowers no the passing showers".
