Uses for Baking Soda

Baking soda is commonly used for baking cakes and other foods. But baking soda may also be used for many other things in the home and on the body. A box of baking soda can be at grocery stores or dollar stores, and the price for a small box is usually $1.00.

Many people use baking soda for brushing their teeth; this makes the teeth cleaner and the breath fresher. If you put an opened box of baking soda in your refrigerator it will help to fight old food odors or onion smells on other foods. Also pouring baking soda down into the garbage disposal will help it to get rid of odors.

Baking Soda Beauty Tips

Exfoliating with baking soda will give your skin a healthy glow. When washing your face with a facial soap, apply a teaspoon amount of baking soda to your face-cloth, and begin washing your face in a circular motion and then rinse. A baking soda paste is good for acne, just mix a little water to make a baking soda paste, apply it to your face and leave on for 5-10 minutes, and then rinse.

Also baking soda can be used for bathing, it exfoliates your body and helps get rid of old skin cells as well. When doing manicures and pedicures baking soda can assist with making hands and feet softer.

We use it in the fridge and in the hot tub too. My wife is a fabric artist and some dyeing processes call for baking soda too. Good information here.
