10 day liquid diet

The 10 day liquid diet is a diet plan for extreme, rapid weight loss.

Liquid diets are usually prescribed to patients by a doctor for medical purposes in order to clean out the body of excess residue in the intestines and stomach region prior to surgury. However, Liquid diets can also be used to lose weight.

Before embarking upon any weight loss diet it is vitally important to do your research and conduct a doctor or health proffessional to ensure that it will be safe for you to do so. Strict Liquid diets are an extreme solution and are not easy to follow, this is especially the case for the 10 day liquid diet!

The body is designed to chew and digest solid food and so if you have tried and failed on other weight loss diets beforehand you may not succeed. If however, you are determined and have the willpower to follow it through you have the potential to lose 10lb in 10 days guaranteed! (I have completed the weight loss diet 2 times in 2 years to great effect before going on holiday)

During the 10 day liquid diet you should supplement with a daily multivitamin, preferably in liquid form because liquid vitamins are better absorbed by the body. This is to ensure that your body still receives adaquate supplies of the necessary vitamins that you would normally receive from your solid food. You must also ensure that you consume at least 64 ounces of water (about 8 cups) per day which you should be doing anyway to help facillitate weight loss.

Of course, no solid foods on the 10 day liquid diet plan. So what can you have?

A blender comes in useful to make your own fruit smoothies, you should add some whey protein powder or raw eggs to ensure your body receives enough protein which is essential during any weight loss diet so that you do not lose muscle. You can have plenty of soups but not ones with large lumps of solid foods such as noodles or vegetables!! There are dairy options such as milk and yoghurt and you are allowed as much fruit juice as you like! You should also drink plenty of hot drinks like green tea (full of antitoxidants).

Although the 10 day liquid diet is high in sugars, it is low in fat and carbs and therefore although weight loss may be achieved, it is not the healthy way to go in the long run.
