12 Things Everyone Should Be Able to Say About himself- Self Improvement Tips

Updated on November 8, 2012

You have a comfortable and positive view of yourself. If you can’t say you do all of these things right now, it gives you a basis on which to improve.

1. I am following my dreams and listening to my heart

It is important for everyone to have goals and something to look forward to in life. Always make sure that the path you are following is one you chose for yourself. Don’t get caught in the trap of doing what others expect or think you should do. Everyone has a dream and it is important to listen to what your heart is telling you to do. Everyone makes mistakes but the best thing to do is get back up and try again. You can’t fail unless you don’t try at all. Challenge yourself, work hard to achieve what you want, and don’t give up until you get there. You won’t regret all the hard work and time you put into achieving what you want.

2. I have pride in myself

There is a difference between being conceited, and being proud. Just because someone has pride does not make them stuck up and it does not mean you think you are perfect. Having a sense of pride just means that you are able to look in the mirror and embrace yourself, your good qualities and the ones that might not be your favorite. Everyone deserves to be loved for just the way they are. Accept this and your natural confidence will show. Others will look up to you and you will be able to feel the love and confidence for yourself that allows you to do anything you want to achieve.

3. I make a difference

It might not seem like it, but everything little thing you do to help someone or something else is making a difference in the world. Helping others out not only makes their life better, but the effect of making a difference can improve your life positively as well. Don’t tell yourself that you are just one person and you don’t make a difference. The truth is that every single person makes a difference and by inspiring others to have the same feeling , you together can accomplish a lot.

4. I am joyous and thankful

Happiness is not something that happens; it is the way you choose to be. When something bad happens, you have the option to view it as a setback or a stepping stone to something better. Learning to have a positive outlook can really help you in the long run. Be thankful for everything you have been given. When you look at the big picture, there is always someone out there that would be so thankful to be in your shoes. Embrace what you have and count your blessing every day.

5. I am maturing into a better version of me

Always follow your own path and focus on improving yourself. Don’t focus on trying to be like someone else. A first rate version of you is always better than a second rate version of someone else. Pay attention to your body and health and keep things positive. Your body is a temple and should be treated as such!

6. I make use of my time

Always remember to live in the moment. Your life is passing by before your very eyes and it is impossible to stop the clock or hit rewind. Time is free but you can’t take it for granted. Stop to savor the little things in life like the smell of flowers or the sight of a rainbow. Time that’s lost can never be taken back so spend it wisely.

7. I am truthful to myself

You are the one person that you can always count on so always be honest with yourself. Find out who you really are as a person and what you want out of life. Look into the depths of your soul to discover who you truly are inside.

8. I treat others good

Family and friends don’t have access to your thoughts like you do. Even though you know that you love them and care, they are only able to see that through the affection you show them. Take time to let them know how much they mean to you. Be there for them when they need someone so that maybe one day they can return the favor for you. Even though you think they already know, it never hurts to remind your family and friends just how much you love them.

9. I know unconditional love

Learning to love unconditionally is very important in growing as a person and being happy. Loving unconditionally means that you are able to completely open up your heart to someone without any special circumstances and without expecting anything in return. Even though nobody is perfect, you can learn to love an imperfect person perfectly.

10. I have forgiven

One thing that can really help you to grow as a person is the ability to forgive. It is exhausting to hold a grudge against someone and holding a grudge never fixes the problem. Remember that nobody is perfect, everyone makes mistakes. Rise up and be strong and learn to forgive. That doesn’t mean you forget, but you don’t have a heavy heart and you are able to heal and move forward.

11. I am responsible for my own life

You have to learn to take responsibility for your own life. When you make mistakes, learn from them. Trying to put blame on someone else is only going to remove you from the issue and does not prevent it from happening again. If you let someone else become accountable for your choices then you become trapped in their path and that is no way to live.

12. I don’t have regrets

Everyone makes mistakes. Remember that everything that has happened in your life so far, the good and the bad, has made you who you are today.

Love as much as you can, help others, do what makes you happy. Never live your life for someone else. Live your life for you and what makes you happy along the way.
