3 Steps to Finding Your Purpose & Positioning Yourself for Real Success

Everybody wants to be successful, but a wrong definition of success leads many to frustration despite their remarkable achievements. Their mistake is to consider that success rimes with riches.

Watch one of the late investigative journalist Dominick Dunne’s TV series, Power, Privilege and Justice, to discover the dark side of the rich - dark side characterized by all sorts of addiction, jealousy, envy, suicide and crime at the root of which is an insatiable desire for more and more…

No, real success in life is not the result of wealth accumulation. Have you ever wondered why the wealthiest individuals in America are pledging to give away their fortunes? The answer is, a need that material things cannot fulfill. Success in life is being purpose driven, and real success in life is living your God-given purpose.

So please, don't think that success is the wealth of Bill Gates, the Nobel prizes of Nelson Mandela and Mother Teresa, the grace of Adriana Lima, or the fame of Oprah Winfrey. Each one of them is serving or has served a cause greater than himself that represents or has represented his life's purpose.

The last statement of the second paragraph implies that every successful people is purpose driven, but really successful peoples are driven by their respective God-given purpose. It is your living out your god-given purpose that will fulfill you in such a way that "your worldview will expand beyond your wants and needs", as would say Health Education expert Gail Sobotkin. Wealth and fame will eventually come your way as a result of doing what you are called to do.

Since you are just like me and many others desiring to be really successful in life, let me share with you 3 steps that will take you to finding your life's purpose and position yourself for real success in life.

  1. Connect or Reconnect With Your Source

The cause you are called to serve in this world is a great one; it is greater than yourself. It is this cause that will make you successful if you follow it. Just like Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who followed the idea that they could offer a service that would instantly deliver relevant information to the world on virtually any topic and created google, have become successful. For you to know what this cause is you need first to connect or reconnect to your source, your creator, your maker, the only one who knows exactly which role he intended you to play on earth.

Of course you can just decide what you want to do with your life, depending of who you want to become and what you want to have, but do not forget that even though this approach may take to a certain level of success, we are talking about real success, the fulfillment of your God-given purpose. Jim white, author of What’s My Purpose? : A journey of Personal an Professional Growth, “ Ultimately, finding your purpose is a spiritual quest. It represents your ability to connect with something greater than yourself.”

  2. Awaken to Your Uniqueness

Everything that you are, as a distinct individual, is meant for a specific purpose. It is not haphazardly that your natural way of perceiving things and of reacting to them are encoded into your DNA, which also define your physical aspect, different from any other individual. It is for the purpose of you playing your role in this world and in your generation that you are sensible to certain things and not to others. It for this particular reason that you’ve been through all sorts of experience in your life, good or/and bad; they have shaped you and they qualify you for that mission of yours.
The path that leads to finding your life’s purpose passes through the realization of your uniqueness.

  3. Follow Your Dream and Your Passion While Staying Connected to Your Source

The third step to finding your purpose is listening to your “Emotional Heart Bit” and going after your dream, whichever it is. No need to mention that you need to remain connected with your source while doing so.

You are who you are for the purpose of carrying out your own mission on this planet. You may admire the achievements of successful people, but they might not be as successful as you may think. Real success in life is "being God-purpose given driven". What you have to do if you are to be counted among the really successful ones is: Connect or reconnect with your creator, realize that you’re unique, and follow your dream with passion, your life’s purpose will unfold itself to you. You will then be positioned for achieving real success in life. It is not about money, don’t forget it!

I'm happy the book arrived in good order. I'll be running short articles at HUB that focus on the book. All of your HUBS pretty much reflect the content within it , including this HUB. Well done, and we'll keep in touch.

      Thanks for commenting Jagandelight.

People search and/or find their life's purposes in either themselves, other people, spiritual beings other than God, or in God himself.

Only those who are God-given purpose driven are really successful. It is our responsibility to help them realize this truth.

True, we have to stay connected to our source-our father God. It is he that will help us to find our God given purpose in life and that's indeed true success.

I wonder why many people don't fully know that type of purpose, but writing this I get it. In order to have the full manifestation of God's power in their lives you have to have a committed relationship with God. True success is not you accomplishing something on your own, but a higher power (GOD) that brings you into the unattainable (purpose) "Your gift will make room for you." That is why his word is true- seek the kingdom of God first and everything else shall be added unto you. That's true purpose-his kingdom, then you-success in life.

Thank you so much for your feedback, Happyboomernurse.

Your quote from Create Meaning in Your Life and Happiness Will Follow, a great hub I should mention, is relevant to this hub as it is about life purpose. That why I didn't hesitate to refer to it.

      Thanks again.
