The Fear of Germs
The fear of germs is a lot more than just excessive hand washing. Mysophobia is one of the most life changing phobias out there. By the time children who suffer from Mysophobia reaches adulthood, chances are that their fear of germs has already made a HUGE impact on their lives and how they choose to live.
There's nothing wrong with being cautious with whom or with what you come in contact with. In fact, if more people would be a little more self conscious about the simplest things (like hand washing), the spread of disease and viruses would be cut drastically.
But then there are those who take it way overboard. Never a handshake Never use a bathroom other than their own. These "germaphobics" or "germaphobes" as some come to call it, usually live very eccentric lives.
The Spread of Disease
There's one thing for sure, there are some nasty diseases and viruses out there. The spread of disease is far to easy, but at the same time, it's also easy to defend yourself without being labeled a 'Germaphobe'.
From public places to your own bathroom, there are diseases everywhere. With a little common sense and some knowledge on how diseases spread, you can prevent yourself from getting seriously sick (or at least cut your chances).
