A Natural Aid To Quit Smoking...And It's Not Expensive.
There are so many people out there who are trying to quit smoking and having a very hard time doing so. All you have to do it seems like is open a magazine or turn on the TV and you see a commercial about something that is supposed to help people quit smoking. How many of them actually work though? I know of a lot of people that have tried quitting but even using the patch, or gum, haven’t been able to kick the habit. I also think it is not just the nicotine that people are addicted to, it's all the other chemical in cigarettes as well. Maybe it’s just me that it doesn’t make sense to, but I don’t understand why all these quit smoking aids make you put more of the toxins that you are trying to get rid of in your body. If you are trying to drop an addiction it makes more sense to me to flush the toxins that are causing the addiction out of your body. It is due to this thought that I came up with a tea to do just that. I have had several friends, and some random people, try it and they said it works great. One even told me that when drinking the tea three times a day they didn’t even have the desire to have a cigarette even when people around them were smoking.
My Recipe For Quitting Smoking
The tea I made has four ingredients, that’s a lot less than you will find in any other aid to quit smoking. The only contraindication that it has is not to use it during pregnancy and the only side effect I’ve heard of was it bringing on a period that was late. How many cautions, or side effects, do these others have? All you need to do is make the tea and drink three cups per day. You can even make all three cups at one time and put it in a bottle to carry with you and sip on throughout the day. It is also a lot less expensive as well. For less than ten dollars, maybe even less than five, you can make enough tea to last a month or more.
· Catnip a.k.a catmint (Nepeta cataria )
· Burdock root (Arctium lappa )
· Plantain (Plantago major )
· Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum )
1. Mix equal amounts of each herb together and put in a glass jar with a tight fitting lid. Label with ingredients, use, dose, date, and caution to not use during pregnancy.
2. Use 1 tsp. of herb mixture and steep in 1 cup of hot water for 10 minutes. Strain and drink. Drink 1 cup up to three times daily. Note on herbal tea: Each tsp. of herbs can be used about 3 times, so you only need to use 1 tsp. of herbs per day.
Catnip isn’t just for cats. In fact it has been used in traditional herbal medicine for thousands of years. While it stimulates cats it has the opposite effect in humans. One of the most noted effects of catnip is that it relieves stress and tension by calming the nervous system. This means it can also help if you have trouble sleeping. It is this specific action that makes it great for helping people quit smoking. It helps relieve many of the symptoms of withdrawals, and not just of nicotine. As a plus it also helps relieve indigestion, heartburn, and gas.
Plantain, Burdock, and Milk Thistle all help remove toxins from the body and are especially beneficial for the blood, liver, and lungs. Not only do they do that but they also tonify the body, helping it repair the damage that has been done to it. All four herbs contain vital vitamins and minerals that toxic substances can deplete the body of.

What If It Doesn’t Work
Well, I guess all I can say to that is not everything works for everybody. But I can say that it has worked for everyone that I know who has tried it. Even if it doesn’t work to help you quit, it does help your body get, or stay, healthy. So I’d have to say it’s not really a loss either way, you still get something out of it even if it’s not quite what you hoped for. I think it would be more worth it to try and see how it works for you rather than not try and never know. I also recommend researching the herbs you plan to use before using them.
