A Simple Guide To A Better You This Year
This isn't just an article for those who lead a less than ideal life. This article is intended for everyone. No matter your status, there is and always will be room for improvement.
I have personally spent hours upon hours of endless research on ways in which I could improve my situation. I've read books, taken courses, attended webinars and joined workshops all in the hopes that I would find what truly worked in my never ending quest to better myself. Truthfully, most had valid points and great advice, but when it came down to it at the end of the day none of these things truly worked for me. I sought all the expertise I possibly could and still came up empty handed.
Feeling defeated and like something was broken inside of me, I was about ready to give up and accept that my life was not going to change and I may as well continue with what I had.
Then, one day I came across a Facebook post that changed my life. (I know, silly right?) A friend of mine had been living his dream. Traveling the world, building positive relationships, a great job and he always seemed to have a smile on his face. I wondered how someone was able to live so happily as if they didn't have a care in the world. I knew that he had been through some pretty significant hardships. So how was it that he was able to pick himself up and not only move on, but thrive as well? It was simple and as he put it:
"Success is an inside job. It's what goes on inside that has the most dramatic effect on what goes on outside."
It became clear to me that I could learn all I wanted to, but until I put in the effort on working on what was deep-seated inside of me, nothing was going to change. That's when I found out about the Law of Attraction.
Today I am a much happier and healthier me.
What is The Law of Attraction?
The Law of Attraction is probably the best known of the universal laws. The theory behind it is that we create our own realities. All of us have the ability to attract the things that we want and all of us at some point or another have attracted the things that we don't want. We attract the things in our homes, the people in our lives, the available balance in our bank accounts and so on and so fourth. We do this through our thoughts and feelings which turn into our choices and actions.
Pretty straight forward right? Take a moment to think about it.
If our beliefs become limited, everything we attract becomes limited as well. This compromises our well-being in many different ways. When we believe that we are indeed capable of anything then the sky is the limit. Focusing on what we don't have or the "lack of" will create a less than ideal reality. But, if we were to choose to focus on what we already have as tools to build ourselves, then we will enjoy a glorious reality.
Basically, negative attracts negative and positive attracts positive.
It's pretty straight forward.
So why is it that through our lives we feel times of hopelessness, sadness, loss and defeat? If you're anything like me, it's because you've been searching for a change in all of the wrong places when the answer is clear and simple.
How To Apply The Law of Attraction
Okay, so I'll admit it. Applying it was a little more difficult than I thought it would have been. The Law of Attraction is a very simple idea itself, but if you are anything like me, you've built up years of bad habits and negative thinking. It takes a while to break away from those habits completely, however the results are well worth the struggle.
First, in order to live the life that you have imagined you must know exactly what it is that you want.
Here's where it gets fun. Grab a notebook and a pen and then start writing a gigantic list. Go crazy and think about everything you want to do, who you want to be as well as everything you want to have. Write down EVERYTHING. No matter how big or small. No matter how silly it may seem. If you want it, write it down!
Once your hand has cramped and you've got several pages, take a break. You deserve it. After your nap, cup of coffee or whatever it is that you do to unwind, get back to your list and look it over. Find the one thing that you are going to make your priority. This part was difficult for me. Trying to figure out what was most important. If you find yourself doing this, just remember that they are all important to you, so it doesn't really matter what you choose first.
What we desire is driven be an emotion. Perhaps it's not so much the thing, person, or event, but rather what that thing, person or event will mean for you. Think about that for a moment.
If your list has purchase a new car as something you want, maybe it's because it represents achievement in your mind.
If you are wanting a well deserved vacation, maybe it's because you're stressed and you need some time to unwind and recharge.
If a committed relationship is something you desire, maybe it's because you seek love, appreciation and a sense of feeling complete.
There's nothing wrong with what you desire in your life. Just remember the importance of the emotion behind that desire. That is the key to the doors of success. Feelings are magnetic. The more you feel in the ways that you want to feel, the more that emotion flows to you. What you put out there is what you will in return get back. Remember that it takes work, time and unwavering dedication. A new house and the love of your life will not come overnight. (Although that'd be nice!)
It's a common misconception that in order to feel the ways in which we want, that we must get the things that we want first. That's actually backward thinking and slows down the time it takes to achieve your goals. First think and know that you are unstoppable, powerful, happy, grateful or whatever positive vibes you choose and live them. Your chances of success greatly increase when you increase the time you spend feeling positive.
*What feelings do you associate with your goals?
*Clarify your intentions by writing them down in a notebook or journal
*Describe those feelings in detail
*Start feeling now
*Make a list of the times in your life when you felt positive and why
*Picture what you were doing and relive those feelings
*Identify all of your positive emotions and realize that you deserve to own those feelings as often as you wish.
Who we are now is 100% based upon our own self concept and inner feelings. We're programmed and most of us in a way that is less than ideal. If we change the programming we change our results. It's as simple as that. Feeling positive about yourself and the emotions that you desire most right now will draw back to you.

I simply cannot express enough the importance and power of the Law of Attraction. Take it from a formerly depressed, divorced, hopeless and defeated single mother of two. I had no direction and I felt as if I was losing myself, my family and my sense of purpose. Once I found the secret to living a better and happier lifestyle I am no longer that person. I know now that I am unique, talented, worthy of love and respect and all the great things that this world has to offer.
