A Simple Sore Throat Recipe
Having a sore throat is a pain in the rear end. Let's face it, it sucks and it does feel horrible. You may not be always sick though. Maybe your a smoker or maybe it's allergies. Who knows? You try cough drops, throat spray, or other types of medicine and that doesn't work. Well cinnamon is a ingredient that is liked by most people. It helps with a sore throat. Most people don't know this, because you don't see cinnamon flavored medicine that often. This recipe I came up with originated from a friend of mine who I greatly appreciate. One day, I got sick. I had a cough all night long to the point that I couldn't sleep. I had a sore throat and a tickle in my throat that wouldn't go away. For the life of me, I could not figure out something that would work to get me to sleep. My friend came over the next day and said, "Try this." He handed me a drink. I tried it and a few hours it went away like magic.
- 2 cups Water
- 2 packets Apple Cider
- 2 tablespoons Cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon Honey, (Optional)
- Fill a microwaveable cup with water and heat in the microwave for a minute and 30 seconds.
- Remove from microwave carefully. Caution, it will be hot.
- Add your cinnamon, apple cider, and honey. Stir thoroughly.
- Drink slowly and carefully. Repeat if needed.
Now mind you, if you are a smoker, this may or may not work for you. Smoking will damage your esophagus. If your esophagus is already damaged, it could take a day for your sore throat to be completely gone. I mentioned that honey is optional, because it may take two of these drinks to help soothe your throat. Honey is also a great option to add to this drink because honey is known to help sore throats. Don't drink honey straight out of the bottle, trust me, it doesn't work.
