INT: M.J.’S BEDROOM IN A HUGE FABULOUS PENTHOUSE APARTMENT OVERLOOKING THE DELAWARE RIVER- PHILADELPHIA, PA

MUSIC-VANITY 6- “NASTY GIRL”

We DISSOLVE into another cloud of crack smoke as we discover M.J.’S face as the smoke dissipates.

We now MONTAGE into a scene of total and complete decadence as we see M.J. sitting up in his bed smoking huge amounts of crack, out of a humongous crack pipe. Three strippers are dancing for M.J., he spanks the women. The women give M.J. multiple “shot guns” filled with crack smoke. M.J. licks and snorts huge amounts of powdered cocaine from the dancers’ breast, bellies, and behinds. THE WOMEN LOVE IT! M.J. IS KING! The decadent MONTAGE continues as we DISSOVLE.

EXT: THE SCATTERWOOD ESTATE- 700 ACRES- BUCKS COUNTY, PA- NEW YEARS DAY- DINNER TIME

We DISSOLVE into a CRANE shot slowly to view the entire 700-acre estate, which includes a helicopter-pad, multiple swimming pools, tennis courts, guest-homes, servant’s quarters, horse stables, playing fields, and multiple garages filled with some of the most expensive vehicles in the world. DISSOLVE.

INT: THE SCATTERWOOD BANQUET ROOM:

We DISSOLVE into the Scatterwood Family Crest centered in the estate’s largest banquet room. CONTINUE DISSOLVING into the faces of a solemn, dejected and concerned large group of people which include M.J.’S parents, grand parents, four older sisters, brother-in-laws, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews all dining quietly; all occasionally glancing at the conspicuously vacant seat that is at M.J.’S father’s immediate right. The large group of permanent staff share their employer’s disappointment and concern as they grimly serve in complete silence.

CUT BACK TO:

MUSIC- VANITY 6 -“NASTY GIRL”

INT: M.J.’S PENTHOUSE-THE LIVING ROOM

A MID SHOT shows “KING M.J.” sitting on one of his leather sofas dressed in a black, pure silk robe, taking a long drink from a huge bottle of Crystal Champagne, then pronounces to histhree exotic dancers…

CUT TO: MUSIC-BY PINK-PLAYED VERY LOUDLY

INT: PETE AND DARCY’S APARTMENT

A MID SHOT reveals Pete is waiting impatiently for the delivery guy from Golden Dragon. He is sitting on the couch, watching football, enjoying the music by PINK, drinking his second Budweiser and eating a large bag of potato chips.

                                                          (grumbles to himself)

Where’s that little chink at, I’m starving to death here.

SFX: DOOR BUZZER

                                                              PETE (CONT’D)

                                                                    (aloud)

                                                                 About time!

MUSIC-STOPS-ABRUPTLY:

WE TRACK IN SLOW MOTION IN COMPLETE SILENCE as Pete presses the button to let the deliveryman from Golden Dragon in. WE HAVE DUAL CLOSE UP SHOTS as we see Pete and the deliveryman- “MOUTH” the following DIALOUGUE.

                                                                   (smiling)

Yo dude where you been, I got a pregnant wife to feed.

                                                              DELIVERYMAN

                                                                  So…sorry.

WE MID SHOT IN SLOW MOTION IN SILENCE as Pete and the deliveryman exchange the food for the money; the Deliveryman bobbles the food, and then drops the money on the floor.

SFX: BEGIN FAINT SOUND OF PULSATING HEART BEAT OVER THE DEAD SILENCE: DIALOGUED IS STILLED BEING “MOUTHED” ONLY.

                                                                DELIVERYMAN

                                                         Sorry. Sorry. So…sorry.

SFX: SOUND OF HEARTBEAT BECOMES LOUDER:

                                                                        PETE

                                                        Don’t sweat it dude. No biggie.

WE CONTINUE TO MID SHOT IN SLOW MOTION/SILENCE as Pete bends down to pick up the money, the deliveryman from the Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurant pulls out a 38 caliber revolver with a silencer, and shoots Pete through the back of his head while he is still bending over. Pete dies instantly.

SFX: SOUND OF HEARTBEAT BECOMES LOUD AND RAPID: WE TRACK IN SLOW MOTION/SILENCE as the deliveryman discreetly closes the Kowalski’s front door, and searches for Darcy.

SFX: SOUND OF HEARTBEAT GROWS EVEN LOUDER AND MORE RAPID: CONTINUE TRACKING as the deliveryman silently enters the bathroom and sees Darcy’s pregnant silhouette swaying to the silent music by PINK in the steam filled shower. A MID SHOT reveals the deliveryman shooting Darcy twice through the glass shower door, he then opens the shower door with a gloved hand to confirm that Darcy is dead.

RETURN TO NORMAL MOTION/SOUND:

WE TRACK as the deliveryman swiftly exits the Kowalski’s apartment. We still hear MUSIC BY PINK as the deliveryman pedals away on his old “beat up” bicycle.

CUT TO:

INT: KEITH’S IN-LAWS HOME BROOKLYN NY- NEW YEARS DAY-AFTER DINNER

SALSA MUSIC BY CELIA CRUZ:

LONG SHOT as we observe Keith and Bonnie, Keith’s In-Laws, Sister and Brother-In Law and two daughters, all dancing together. A Close UP reveals Keith and Bonnie staring deeply into each other’s eyes.

DISSOLVE:

INT: KEITH AND BONNIE’S BEDROOM-PHILADELPHIA, PA- NEXT MORNING

Dissolve: into Keith and Bonnie snuggling in bed. Bonnie is wearing beautiful red silk pajamas; Keith has on a Philadelphia 76ers Allen Iverson #3 Jersey, and 76ers game shorts. They are prepared for the inevitable and joyful “attack” on their privacy by Mattie and Mia that is sure to arrive by no later than 7:30 am on any given Saturday morning.

News before the girls bust in on us.

Not the News, babe that mess always brings me down. Put on

                                        Keith Blackwell you can’t watch cartoons all your life.

                                                       You really need to grow up man.

                                                                           KEITH

                                                               (Begins to tickle his wife.)

                                                You wasn’t talking that grow up mess when I was

                                                tearing that up all night, was you “Miss Thang”?

Bonnie is squirming, and giggling loudly, as she turns on the TV to watch the Saturday morning 7:00am local News on FOX channel 29. We CLOSE UP on Keith’s face throughout the News Anchorwoman’s MONOLOGUE. Keith’s face slowly transforms from a smile, to concern, to shock, to being terrified for his immortal soul.

                                                             NEWS ANCHORWOMAN (VO)

First up on the FOX 29 morning News; a brutal murder took

place yesterday, (beat) On News Years Day, two

fellow journalists, Peter and Darcy Kowalski, were slain

in their apartment in Old City.

NEWS ANCHORWOMAN (VO) (CONT’D)

Police are baffled on why two young Newspaper reporters

would be killed “mob execution style”. Police believe

that this was definitely the work of a professional assassin;

there is no evidence of a robbery attempt. There is no

“evidence” at this time at all. Peter and Darcy were

reporters at the “Philadelphia Journal Newspaper”

in the sports and entertainment departments respectively.

(beat) Darcy was seven months pregnant with the couple’s

first children. (beat) Shocked and outraged,

neighbors reported that the couple was expecting twins.

More, on this brutal homicide in Old City later…

We move from Keith’s CLOSE UP to a MID SHOT of Keith and Bonnie sitting up in bed reacting to the news broadcast.

                                                              (shocked)

Oh my God! I know that girl; she was in one of my dance

classes at “State”! Oh my God! Keith, she was one of

my students!

Keith begins to tremble; his body has turned ice cold. He reaches for the remote, as his daughters come running into their Mommy and Daddy’s bedroom.

                                                               (filled with joy)

                                                      FLYING MUNCHKIN ATTACK!

Keith manages to compose himself long enough to change the TV to cartoons. His daughters jump on top of him, and begin to smother their daddy with kisses. Keith returns the affection. Bonnie is staring at Keith with a very puzzled look. She felt his body begin to tremble, and turn ice cold. DISSOLVE.
