ARTHRITIS ! Can Simple Copper Coins be the answer to Crippling Pain ?

Updated on March 12, 2015

The Scourge That Is Arthritis

Recently, after 8 months or so of discomfort in my left shoulder, my GP arranged for me to see a Consultant. A shoulder scan was performed and the observation made that there was a small showing of Arthritis in the joint. I should add here that in the time taken from referral to seeing the Consultant, the condition had eased significantly. The advice given was to see if further improvement took place. In my case I can report that it has and now I am pain free.

Going back a long way, my early memories include a Grandmother bent almost double by Rheumatoid Arthritis, unable to walk without using her hands to support her small movements around her house. To a young boy she was initially at least, a scary picture to behold. However, till my own recent brush with Arthritis, I cannot say I have concerned myself with the disease at all since those early days.

Now, prompted by my own small problem and media publicity, I have looked deeper into the Arthritis puzzle that affects so many in these modern days. As a result, I now know that Arthritis is basically an inflammatory disease brought on by Energy Deficiency as a common cause. This can lead to poor circulation which may result in serious problems and which is a core cause of the condition.

As indicated above the chief cause is considered to be linked to circulatory problems, whilst many, many "cures" are advanced, most of them being lead by Commercial considerations. For some considerable time COPPER has been linked to being a potential cure and millions of Copper Bracelets have been bought and continue to be bought based on claims that the element can aid recovery from the condition.

The principle behind this is simple and relies on copper being absorbed into the body from the bracelet via sweat through the skin. However, most people receiving a balanced diet, including things like vegetables including potatoes, grains and fruits, already get enough for their needs and the possibility thus exists for wearers to develop copper poisoning if too much copper builds up in the body.

In fact there are more than 100 forms of Arthritis including those with difficult medical names such as, FIBROMYALGIA, POLYMYALGIA RHEUMATICA and ANKYLOSING SPONDILITIS. In effect they cause problems to joints throughout the body, cause the immune system to attack healthy tissue and in the case of the last named, cause pain in the spine.

OSTEOARTRITIS is the most common form ,attacking over 5 million people in the UK alone, whilst RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS is responsible for a further 400,000 conditions. These are significant figures and show both the size of the problem and also the size of the "repair market" open to all types of claims and counter claims. In fact, there is one school of thought which indicates that left alone with sensible diet, the body will repair itself. This argument is based on the cause being cell damage and that it is a constant phenomena, as over 10,000 billion cells replace damaged ones in a normal lifetime.

Though in my case, the self repair theory seems to have worked out , for longer sufferers it is understandable that they would turn to other claims. Over recent times, the case for copper has gained further support as, instead of bracelets, the idea was fashioned to make copper insoles for shoes. The thinking is that as the soles of the feet are larger in area and tend to sweat more than the wrists, the opportunity for absorption of copper is greater. As a result copper insoles have now become widely advertised.

One interesting effect of this was to interest an 85 year old man in the UK. Johnny Franks read of the claims for copper insoles as a cure for the Arthritis that he suffered from after years in show business. However, he baulked at the £30 cost for a pair and made his own "coppered" solution. He found out that the low value English copper 2p coin had 97% of copper in it"s make up. That he thought was good enough, so he bought an ordinary cheap pair of foam insoles and glued 4 x 2p coins to each, 2 in the heel area and 2 in the sole. To his delight, shortly after he had walked on them, he noticed an improvement in his condition. Now he claims he is cured completely. As he has no Commercial interest in publicising his finding, it may just be that at least, for some sufferers he may have stumbled across a simple ,cost effective relief from the tyranny of the disease. At say £2 for a pair of insoles and 16p for 8 coins, he is streets ahead of the £30 or so for the commercially marketed products.

So does it work, does the copper soles work? The jury is still out in both cases but further trials are being undertaken by the Wolverhampton NHS Trust. Their findings will be eagerly awaited by many. In the meantime, check out for any UK 2p coins pre 1992 you may have. The copper in them may soon turn to Gold if Mr Franks budget cure gets the seal of approval.

Several months have passed since I wrote this Hub which has now received the largest number of hits on my 208 pages. I say this not to claim any personal accolades but to highlight that there must be many, many people suffering from this crippling disease and searching for relief and/or cure. I would appreciate hearing from any readers who are moved to try the "copper coin" treatment and to learn if they have benefited from it at all. Hopefully, it works, if not for all at least for some and if it does then we can all help by publicising wherever possible the information. I will wait to hear from readers with great anticipation.

Since I wrote and published this HUB it has become by far the biggest read Hub in my portfolio. Now there is news of an amazing breakthrough imminent which will enable treatment to be given simply for the CAUSES and not just the symptoms of this crippling diease. To read about this go to my newer Hub which begins "COPPER COINS-------------------". The news is well worth a read.

I suggest to everyone who suffers from this debilitating disease to try out the copper coins aid but also to consult a medical practitioner for professional advice as soon as possible. The coins can benefit and will not harm you, so you cannot lose if you follow this path. Remember it seems best results are gained by using PURE COPPER.

I need to try something because my joints and feet hurt everyday. At only 50 this is a worry and definitely affects my energy levels. Nice article.

Jimmy: That is interesting but I have no idea how it works. Years ago copper bracelets were sold to assist sufferers etc but did not really work. It is thought now that as the feet sweat more, more of the beneficial chemicals from the copper are absorbed into the body system.

I am only a 30 yrs and I don't have any arthrtitis. But decided to put some 95% copper pennies appllied directly to the soles of my feet (just out of curiosity). I noticed a definite energy boost.

Years ago I started to get arthritis in my ankle. Each year it gets worse. Today I decided to place 7 copper pennies in my sock and see what happens. Almost immediately there was no pain. I will continue to experiment and let you know the results. Thank you for your article.

Mr Franks, thank you for your comment. As I have never, thankfully, suffered extensively from arthritis, I cannot confirm or deny any success personally forthose who suffer like my Grandmother for example. What I can say is that this is my most read Hub and shows just how many people suffer from arthritis and are desperate to find relief and/or cure. I am sure there will be great interest in your further research all around the world. Do let the people know what you have discovered.

Thank you so much for this article. I immediately put 4 pennies in each house shoe between the insole and my socks. I walked downstairs and made coffee and realized I had no more pain! About a half hour later I tasted metal on the edge of my tongue so I knew something was working. I am 62, have arthritis, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. I also have bursitis in my shoulders. Well, guess what. My shoulders are pain free. This article may be premature, but I pray it is not, because this is the first time in 5 years I have been pain-free! If anything changes, I will update this posting. Give it a shot. And, the best thing about it is it only cost me 8 cents!
