Addictions-You're Wanted Dead Or Alive

Updated on February 21, 2014

Have you ever heard of the saying. "Wanted Dead or Alive"? This saying has been around for many of years, and it holds true to many different things.

There are many things such as being hunted down for something that one has done against the law, such running as a fugitive, murderer, hit and run accidents or any crime for that matter that you were able to escape from temporarily. Many people that are on the run, may get away from being caught, but sooner or later it or they will catch up with you.

Then we have the one thing, named addiction, that seeks and lurks inside of us, just waiting to destroy you. No matter if you try to hide or not, these addictions will find you if you are not strong enough to say an easy word, called NO! With addictions, your wanted dead or alive.

This thing I'm talking about is being addicted to drugs or alcohol. This one thing, which we call an addiction is something that everyone in the world can escape from and never be caught again, only if, the individual is willing to surrender and stop running away from their addiction problems.

This is breaking your bodies law, and all of us have the strength inside to face these demons head on and put this addiction in it's place, and that place is out of our bodies, our thoughts and our lives.

Drug and alcohol addiction, if not treated and surrender to, will indeed take you down,, because these addictions don't care, and they will get you one way or another, dead or alive.

This is the one and only thing that we all have total control of. Do we want to keep running, lying to ourselves and others, or do we want to surrender and except Sobriety back into our lives?

Can You Say No?

Broken Dreams

You know, this is really not a hard question to answer. You can have this life as you want it or you can live your life under the demons rules. Their rules are one thing and that is to keep the harmful substances flowing into their existence.

It took me a very long time to come to grips and walk away from something I truly loved, which was alcohol and drinking beer.

How can one possibly love something such as drugs or alcohol when we know for a fact, that in the end it will KILL YOU, one way or another. Kind of strange wouldn't you think?

These demons have no mercy on anything. They are out for the kill, and will make you lose everything you have including your self-esteem, self worth, positivity in your life, your families and friends and in the end YOUR LIFE!

Does this sound like something you can handle? I know I could not handle it anymore and that is why I raised my arms in the air and just said, "I have had enough and I surrender".

One More Life Gone

I find it amazing finding out who I really am without drugs or alcohol-to this day, I have no idea how I survived such self-destruction.

      Great hub,

@ Klara, Thank you for your comment and yeah it is a long way back home for some when they become so deep into their addiction. I thank God everyday for the strength he has given me to become clean and sober again.

It's so easy to fall into addictive behavior and so difficult to get out ot the hole! I'm glad you did! You are an inspiration to many others that are trying to find their way back to who they truly are. Great hub!
