My name is Erin Lindeman and I am all about keeping a healthy and beautiful lifestyle.

Coconuts have great nutrition and come with great benefits toward your health. Listed below are 7 advantages of coconut oil.

Skin Care

Coconut oil can be massaged onto the skin just like a lotion would. The oil derived from coconuts can reduce wrinkles in the skin and make the skin appear younger. Massaging coconut oil onto the skin will also make it softer. The benefit of using this as a lotion is that you are less likely to get a bad skin reaction from the oil as a lotion may. Coconut oil can also be used to treat sunburns and rashes.

Losing Weight

Eating coconut oil can help burn fat and help create a smaller appetite for other foods. The fatty acids and medium chan trigylcerides in the oil can make an increase metabolism. Coconut oil is great for weight loss diets.

Oral Care

Coconut oil can be used like a mouthwash. The oil can get rid of some harmful bacteria and germs. It can also protect you from having bad breath. There is a remedy called Oil Pulling, which is taking a spoon of coconut oil, and swishing it around your mouth for about twenty minutes. When you are done swishing, spit out and brush your teeth. Oil pulling helps "pull" the bacteria and germs out of your mouth.

Hair Care

Coconut oil can be used as a conditioner. It makes the hair soft and shiny. The oil is also a great remedy for a dry scalp or dandruff. The oils will strengthen the scalp and hair follicles. Coconut oil is a great remedy for frizzy hair or split ends as well.

Decrease Possibilities Of Seizures

In Coconut oil, there are fatty acids that later turn into ketones. These ketones that are made in coconut oil can be used to treat different health disorders that may involve seizures.

Body Detox

Eating coconut oil can aid in removing the harmful toxins in the body. Even if you are just cleansing your mouth by practiciing oil pulling with coconut oil, this will help get rid of bacteria at the mouth, which is usually where most toxins and harmful bacteria make its way through the body.

Healing Wounds

This may sound rather strange, but if you place coconut oil on a cut, scrape or rash, the layer formed will help protect the wound from getting contaminated any further because of the antibacterial components the oil contains. So when you get a small wound, perhaps you can apply neosporin and a small amount of coconut oil for a good healing process.

Now do you want coconuts to have a more important role with your personal health? Please feel free to leave any questions or comments you may have below.
