Alcohol and Alcoholism around the World.

Updated on June 24, 2011

Alcohol and Alcoholism.

Drinking and Public Display.

Alcoholism is one of this world most serious health problems.
More than half of each country citizen who chronically and compulsively drink to excess are often need of nursing care. Uncontrolled drinking commonly leads to physical injury and disturbed behavior, and in most cases many of Alcoholics are responsible for taking many innocent lifes due to drinking and driving.

However, many alcoholics suffer from liver disease and other late medical complications of the prolonged intake of large amounts of alcohol... Women have become top of the list, in recent years, as alcoholics,.

The social cost of alcoholism is counted not only in terms of health of the drinker himself but in the harm done to others. As a Nurse, in my everyday life, I have seen the result of what alcoholism can do to a person and his or her families, in death and injuries, caused by drunken drivers. More than half of the over 100,00 highways deaths, around the world involved alcoholics or other drinking problems.

Drinking is now known to exist at every level of society, It has also recently become increasingly clear that there are probably more liquor stores, than health food stores, here in the United States of America, and around the world.

Women with drinking problems do not even hide it anymore, , but consequences of a mother's alcoholism may be even more devastating than men, women get knock up more often, due to the fact that she doesn't remember, anything after a night out on the town, and because of the alcoholism she end up pregnant.

A big problem for the rest of her family. Alcohol and the Kidney's

Despite former claims that alcohol was a cause of nephritis, there seems to be no evidence that alcohol damages the kidneys or even that its use is harmful to patients, pure malarkey., drinking is however, undesirable, for patients, with genitourinary tract infections,.. the increased urinary tract infection/ output induced by drinking alcoholic beverages may cause urgency and frequency in patients with enlargement of the prostate gland, and the list goes on.

Recovery from alcohol addiction requires long term treatment, No single form of alcoholism therapy is effective for all those involved, however, These psychotherapy, membership in organizationtion such as Alcoholics anonymous, (AA) and the use of certain drugs that help to deter the individual from drinking seldom help the alcoholics.

However, some Behavior therapy, might apply by learning techiques to change human behavior by therapists. by according to the experts, only in some cases, virtually reality exposure can used to present fear to stimuli in controlled manner.. once again the answer lies within the alcoholics person,

if they want to quit.;_ylt=A0oG7hnf_ANOYWcA2tdXNyoA?ei=UTF-8&p=alcohol%20withdrawal&fr2=tab-web&frslv8-msgr

      and not deserve it,

I have been given a gift,

      soberiety today,

      I wanna keep it,

      I have formed a family I love,

and wanna keep them, However I know with out a doubt in my mind if i drink I can loose it.

Hi 'lovely. You've exposed a window into our collective souls I must say.

Having grown up in an alcoholic ridden family, i know the devastation first hand, but even in that instance, I couldn't tell you what drove those alcoholics to drink. All I know is my own personal experience.

What I do know is two things, one, a young child really has no inclination to drink or use drugs on their own and its either their personal traumas or lack of fulfilment, even in the context of peer pressure, that drives whether or not they do, and two, as an adult, I find, when my life is exciting, majestic, and fulfilled, as well, I have no desire to over indulge in drinking or use drugs.

In fact, the inverse has proved true to me. When either in depression or feeling stagnant in my life and career, that was the time I faced the demon of drinking too much, and not only that, but if I was to drink too much while I'm enjoying my life, that drinking would mess with that, so there's no way I would drink or use drugs and have that interfere with me enjoying my life...
