All my life I wanted to

Updated on August 25, 2011

Achieve success and find true happiness

Did you ever have a dream or a wish that seems to elude you no matter how hard you try or how much you wish and hope for it to happen? I believe we all wish and dream of something that in our hearts we believe will never come to be. How many of us buy lottery tickets in hopes of becoming millionaires? I know I have and it seems it is not to be as it is someone else's destiny and I seem to be on the path of living a humble life with just enough to provide for my family and I hope that I will be healthy enough to work for the rest of my lifetime to pay my bills, enjoy our remaining times together as a family and put our son through college. It does not have to be this way though if I can change the way I think and view opportunity.

We have to pull it from within ourselves and I have finally learned this through my ability to express my ideas in words. My dream now is to be able to write in such a way that I can be far reaching and touch people in the process and maybe strike a chord with them developing an audience and then channeling my ideas into a compilation of writings that touch upon autism, life, friendship, success, happiness and family. By relating my own personal experiences I feel I add a dimension that makes it very real and very sincere. That is my hope and my vision because I truly am touched by all the people in my life both living and deceased and I am blessed with an autistic son who has made me realize what life really should be about.

I could not imagine how I would feel or what life would be like if I had no more financial worries. Would life be that much more enjoyable if I had more money than I knew what to do with it all? We all fantasize when we buy that mega lottery ticket in hopes of matching all the numbers and in an instant going from struggling to stay afloat to becoming richer than we could ever imagine. I don't know why it seems so difficult to make ends meet sometimes and why things are so expensive. The cost to live today is so high that we don't seem to have enough and it really affects us in our life taking a toll on our emotional and mental well being.

It seems unfair that we have to work so hard to just make enough while star athletes and entertainers make fortunes and seem to take it all for granted. I feel that my life will be about working, being devoted to my family, writing about things important to me and staying healthy. I have a 30 year mortgage and a son for whom I wish to provide a quality education. It seems the cost to go to college just keeps on rising and whatever equity I have in my home will be the major source in raising the much needed capital to help defray the costs of a higher education. I would love to have the peace of mind and the freedom of being debt free and I have already taken strides in eliminating all my credit card debt with the intention of never using those cards again because I believe they are killing us all with their 28 to 39% interest rates.

It is a joke reading those credit card statements now but it really is essential that the new reporting is maintained because the reality is that you will never pay those cards off if you only make minimum payments. It seems the credit card companies want to ensure that you stay in debt for the rest of your life. I am so happy to finally eliminate my credit card debt which seems like a hang noose for so many.

I have come to realize that I will never win the mega lottery or any lottery for that matter so how would I have a chance to become a millionaire where I would be able to take good care of my family, be very charitable to the many charities I have always wanted to bequest monies to and to have a chance of spreading the wealth with my family, friends and the truly needy? It seems we all have the chance to develop an idea or create something of value that would lead us on this path but it can be a very long and difficult process for those few who are fortunate to achieve it.

A visionary is one who can see the need for something before someone else does and can find a way to make it happen. We all hear the stories of those who have changed the course of history with their innovative ideas and their dedication and hard work to achieve what was a mere thought that developed into an idea then a plan and finally a mission. It may be a well written story that develops into a bestseller and then a major motion picture that originally started as hand written ideas on a scrap sheet of paper by someone with a vision. It could be a kid's bright idea to create a website or a young artist's creative talent and eye for beauty.

Major success and financial reward may seem relative but it is not so easy to achieve it all and it will test your very limits and challenge your hopes, your dreams, your ambitions and your dedication and drive. So many have found the secret to achieving this success and for those who stick it out and truly believe they have something of value that is worth pursuing will find a way that will change the course of history and lead to the success they always dreamed of both personally and financially.

Having a dream, developing an idea, realizing its potential, believing in it, staying focused, being true to yourself and your vision, having heart, accepting the challenges that lie ahead, never giving up and finally translating it into something valuable will help you on your way in finding your success and financial reward but it does not usually happen overnight. It will require true dedication and the triumph of the human spirit and in the end it will all be worth it.

Believe and it will be!
