Tooth Decay, Preventions and Its Fillings

Tooth Decay is one of the most common dental problems. It is caused by the bacteria and the damage that is done to the teeth by this disease is known as cavities. The tooth decay should be treated soon as if it is left is can cause severe pain both in teeth and the gums and also in severe cases you can lose your tooth.

To prevent the tooth decay, it is suggested by the dentists to:

«     Brush you teeth at least twice a day with a good toothpaste containing fluoride.

«     Also you should avoid taking snacks that contains more sugar.

«     Flossing is also a good habit to prevent tooth decay.

«     Replace your toot brush after every 3 to 4 months

There are various types of dental fillings to prevent the cavities. One of the known and the oldest methods is the dental amalgam. In this technique there is a silver material used to fill teeth that have cavities. Besides this fillings there are also few other fillings like gold, porcelain and other metals and these fillings are prepared outside the mouth and placed in the position after they have formed.
