Aloe Vera - an extremely beneficial herb

Updated on May 4, 2008

Christopher Columbus once said, "Four vegetables are indispensable for the well-being of man: Wheat, the grape, the olive and aloe. The first nourishes him, the second raises his spirit, the third brings him harmony, and the fourth cures him."

Aloe Vera is a an exteremly useful plant. What I am going to tell you about aloe vera is all from personal experience.

Good for digestive system

Aloe vera is very good for digestive sysytem. It is very good laxative. It streamlines the whole digestive system. We have been using Aloe vera for years and found it really beneficial.

Uric Acid remover

Aloe vera can remove uric acid that gathers at the knee joints. The best thing about aloe vera is that it is a natural medicine with no side effects.

Extremely Bitter taste

Aloe vera has an extremely bitter taste. But this should not be a hurdle for you since advantages are enormous.

You must have heard this: "No pains, no gains."

Here, in the case of aloe vera its not even pain, its a discomfort of just a few seconds. Swallow it and all you would remember will be the benefits and not the bitter taste.

How to use it

  1. Just pluck a leaf from its "base".
  2. Cut it in to small piece of an inch or two.
  3. Peel off the skin.
  4. Eat the almost transparent fleshy gel-like part.
