For a proper anti cancer diet, helpful both in prevention and treatment, it is recommended to consume the following cancer fighting foods:
Eat as much cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, turnips, kohlrabi, or radishes as you can because these cruciferous vegetables cleanse the body and have anticancer properties. Recent studies indicate that they prevent prostate cancer and colon cancer. Eat them in salads, raw if possible.
One of the best and most delicious anti cancer foods. Due to the rich content of omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin A, fatty fish is a food recommended by all doctors. You must include in your menu at least three times a week one serving of mackerel, salmon, herring, anchovies or sardines. Fish consumption prevents breast, colon and prostate cancer, according to the latest research in the field.
Tomatoes are the most accessible and common anti cancer foods. To enjoy their healing properties, eat tomatoes cooked to release lycopene, a substance with anticancer properties. According to research done at the Harvard University, tomatoes have the ability to protect us from cancer of the prostate, colon, breast, but also cervical and lungs. Lycopene is found in carrots, strawberries, peppers and peaches as well.
Because it is rich in polyphenols, green tea inhibits angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels essential for tumor growth), facilitating cancer cell death. Choose Japanese green tea leaves and consume around 6 cups a day if you can.
Ginger can kill cancer cells which makes it an ideal anti cancer food. It is recommended to use freshly grated ginger over a salad of steamed vegetables gently cooked in the pan or preparing an infusion (a few pieces of ginger left in boiling water for 10-15 minutes). You just need to get used to the taste of ginger, you can find it in supermarkets at a decent price.
Rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil, mint, dill, parsley, tarragon are all rich in essential oils that prevent propagation and spreading of cancer cells into surrounding tissues.
Eat only dark chocolate that contains over 70% cocoa and never mixed with milk or other flavorings / artificial creams. Due to its high content in polyphenols and antioxidants dark chocolate prevents the development of cancer cells. If you can eat 20 grams daily and in combination with a cup of green tea the anti-cancer properties grow.
Red wine is a fun anti cancer food, rich in polyphenols and good in slowing the progression of cancer. It is not recommended to consume more than one glass per day, because has been shown that in large quantities alcohol can promote cancer development.
