Are We Dying To Live Or Living To Die?

How does a person answer this loaded question? Are we dying to live or living to die?

I don't know if I will ever be able to answer it, but it sure enters my mind a lot these days. This hub is just my thoughts and perceptions on this subject. Please feel free to give your thoughts and perceptions in the comment section at the bottom of this hub.

As I was throwing all these thoughts around this brain of mine this morning, I looked upon this almond tree I had cut down about 1 month ago. I thought it was dead after I had chopped, sawed and otherwise mangled it to the ground. I grabbed my camera because of what I see from this tree.

It has started growing. Not just one branch, but many leaves are springing forth from the stump I left and thought was dead. Rainwater and sunlight have brought it back to life.

I proceeded to think about myself and the life God blessed me with.

When I was young I was reckless. I never thought I could die. I lived on the edge with no thought about falling. I think there was a song wrote about my lifestyle; Travis Tritt didn't know me or did he? He sure wrote this song that talked about me:

Like an Almond Tree

I had a realization!

God had to chop me down too! Sometimes he just trims our branches and sometimes he fertilizes us; but like the almond tree, I needed chopped down.

God allowed me to start growing again. He has watered and pruned and fed me daily. Just like the tree though, we have to seek that water and nourishment with our roots.

The fruit that came from me before was rotten and terrible. With Jesus in my life, the fruit now, I pray, will be nourishing and good to eat.

God is the Master gardener, just look around you.

That is what I have done this morning is look at God's wonderful works. We sometimes wonder why in the middle of a vegetable garden that plant that has a blue flower on it needs to be pulled; because it is a thistle and will kill the tomatoes and potatoes. God can see what is good and bad for us even when we don't. He puts on His gloves and gets His hoe and goes to work in His special garden. A garden of His delight.

We are His delight as are animals and plants and all things made by Him.

Look around you today.

Are you dying to live or living to die?

God loves us and wants life for us. If we live for Him, we cannot go wrong.

Thank you Father God for the life you have given me and for grafting the other plants you have with me.


Perfect Love

In Conclusion

Death is defeated. Jesus did that years ago but we live as He didn't.

I have decided the question this title asks is of no consequence:
