Weight Loss Drama:As the Scales Tip!

Updated on February 5, 2015

Welcome to my Phat Hub!

Lose weight? Fit into your old jeans? Look better naked? Welcome! You made it! Trust me this won't hurt! This weekly blog is going to be a fun and healthy way to finally come to terms with body issues, weight loss worries, work place donut demons, spending entire paychecks on weight watcher meetings and anything else you want to discuss! Trust me no matter how bad you think you look someone else is looking at YOU thinking man she is my after picture!! It is true! It has even happened to me...once. Welcome to As the Scales Tip. I am here for you!

Ok so the previous post (below) I told you about the nightmare that I gained like 70lbs! I have not been able to get it out of my mind. I am now doing that thing all ladies do everyday checking myself out in the mirror and feeling various parts of my body to make sure they are NOT expanding!! The past three mornings I have made a fruit smoothie for breakfast and have amped up my exercise.. I hope I am not becoming obsessive.

I am just REALLY BAD at dieting or cutting calories.. The mere thought sends me zooming out for chocolate.. I think it is because my mother used to hide food from us. For me it was all about trying to sneak it!! Now I feel so bad when I eat!! I need to come to terms with all of this and find a solution.. I have looked at various websites and they all say the same thing! Eat all day long but only a little bit, drink so much water you need to wear depends and if that doesn't work donate a leg to science! Well I am not going to do that but I'll tell you I am not going to stop working at it! Right now I am just playing catch up after working at a desk for almost a year. It has really set me back! It doesn't help that my husband just lost 30lbs by giving up Beer for three months (and is still not drinking). Maybe I should start drinking beer, maybe a twelve pack a night for three months, and then just stop it.. I could actually watch the scale droop for once! Whatever I am doing wrong I am sure I am not alone. I am also not giving up! Now I am going to go shop for a new weight loss gadget, the next one is bound to work... I'll meet you there! I actually added some stuff that is sensible and not so over the top.. Like my friend who really is on the ice cream and PB&J diet! (do you think it will work?) till next time.

The 232lb Nightmare!!

This morning I woke up in a cold sweat! I had this crazy nightmare that I got on the scale and it read 232lbs!! That is just 10lbs less then my all time highest weight in my life EVER!!! That was about 15 years ago when I lost over 65lbs!!

Has this ever happened to you? I am not sure what this dream meant but thankfully I have a long way to go before that nightmare is a reality! I do feel that it is a good wake up call for me! Over the past nine months I have been working a desk job. This was a huge transition from my former profession as a personal organizer.I gained weight for sure even sitting at a desk all day even doing Zumba 3 times a week didn't save my ass!

The sedentary lifestyle does terrible things to my waistline! I had to quit the job.. I know in this economy that may be financial suicide but when the alternative is death by cardiac arrest I'll take my chances.

Spirulina Superfood!!
Spirulina Superfood!!

Why I LOVE Spirulina!

So not working full-time chained to a desk all day has a few upsides!! I am starting to lose a bit of weight! I have the time now to wake up and walk with a friend 3 miles in the morning and now that I am not rushing out the door like a wild woman I remember my vitamins, green tea supplements, fish oil, chromium picolinate and my favorite of all Spirulina!!

I am not a huge fan of vegetables and spirulina is a superfood that helps fill in the gaps! Spirulina is a type of blue green algae. This algae in particular is unusually high in protein. It is rich in essential fatty acids plus it is a pure, whole food source of B-Complex vitamins. B vitimins are the ones repsonsible for improving your hair, nails and also your sense of well being. It is especially important for folks under a lot of stress!!! (me) An if that wasn't enough this tiny little bit of pond scum also contains calcium, chromium, copper, zinc selenium, magenese and magnesium! It is really a power house! A recent study even suggested that it can help combat the symptoms of hay fever! I knew I loved this ugly green supplement!!

My mom is actually responsible for introducing me to blue green algae back in the 80's! She had a friend that sold it and she used to give it my sister and I every morning. I never noticed much difference while taking it, however, if we happened to run out the effects were more obvious. I would feel a tiny drop in my energy level my sleep wasn't has good nor my dreams and I love to dream! Plus I felt a little more foggy headed! Not scientific by any means but just some small things I noticed! Learn more about natural living and join our community at The House Fairy on Facebook!

If you do try it please come back and comment on what you thought, how you feel and what your opinion is on supplement in general. I really want to know!

      Enjoyed your hub.

I know my problem with weight is no exercise. This time of year I like to walk in the meadow and all around my yard each day but in the last two days I have counted 3 bears to many for me to walk. They have been making a mess of our yard. I wouldn't even walk down the road with them around. Many people kind of trust black bears they say they will run if you yell at them. I'm not one of those people.

Ok seems as though this is the hub for the every day struggles so I apologize for the crazy honesty and self loathing tone I may take from time to time!~
