6 weeks post op 188lbs

Starting weight 218lbs

On July 16, 2012 I was the most anxious person in the world. I showed up to the hospital at approximately 12:30 pm. My scheduled surgery was at 1:00 pm but was not administered my anesthesia till about 5pm, so I definitely was the last surgery of the day. The surgery took about an 1 1/2 hours from start to finished, I had a few complications because I was allergic to the type of anesthesia that the doctors gave me. Waking up was the hardest part, I was dry heaving, throwing up and just really nauseated due to the allergic reaction. I stayed in the hospital for about 4 days, it would have been sooner but they won't allow you to leave the hospital until you have started walking around on your own, and when you have past the drinking test.

In the first two weeks of having the surgery I lost 20lbs. I have never in my life would have though I could lose 20lbs in just 2 weeks. Well the next 2 1/2 weeks I came to a complete stop, my body wouldn't allow me to lose anymore weight. And when the stall finally came to a end I was happy again.. I am not six weeks out and have lost 30lbs. I went from 218 to 188 and also from a pants size 16 to a size 13.

I am on my way to a healthier life. The only thing that I don't like is not being able to enjoy the taste of chicken anymore. Prior, I could eat me some chicken now i really don't like the taste of it anymore. This is the only food that I have discovered I can't eat which is a good thing.
