Urinary tract infection in pregnancy

Urinary tract infection is very common in pregnancy. I experienced urinary tract infection in my pregnancy and it repeatedly affected me. Even though I could not understand the real causes of infection certain home remedies helped me get rid of the infection. I would share with you the magic home remedy I took to treat my urinary tract infection

Barley water for urinary tract infection

Barley water is very cooling. Barley is the best remedy for urinary infection. Barley would cool down your body. Barley is considered as the best remedy for urinary tract infection, especially in pregnant women and children. Pregnant women should make the habit of drinking barley water to fight urinary infection in different phases of pregnancy.

In the seventh month of my pregnancy I had severe urinary infection. I began drinking 5,6 glasses of barley water and barley saved me from urinary infection. After Caesarian delivery I again faced urinary problem, pain and difficulty to pass urine. I expected my doctor to prescribe antibiotics. But she recommended that as I already had loads of antibiotic due to caesarian delivery, it is better to treat post-caesarian urinary problem with home remedies. Again barley water came to my rescue. I started drinking a glass of barley water every half an hour and my urinary problem flee away.

Why barley is the best remedy for urinary tract infection, barley the cheap remedy for urinary infection

Barley is an easily available cereal. It is very cheap also. There are certain other remedies for urinary infection. For example tender coconut water, cranberry, blueberry, watermelon etc. They are however not easily available as barley. For example, cranberry is rarely available in India. Even if we get it, it is only for a season. Barley can be bought from grocery store in all seasons. Barley is always available for us.

How to make barley water for treating urinary infection

Put barley seeds (2 tablespoon) in water and boil. Keep in low flame for 20 minutes for the barley to get extracted into water. Allow it to cool and drink. Drink 2 glasses of barley water at a time. After 1 hour again drink 2 glasses. Drink barley water throughout the day. I swear your urinary infection will disappear in 2 days. If you get urinary tract infection rely on barley water. This is a magic remedy.

How barley cures urinary infection, barley wash out toxins, heat and bateria

Barley cools the body by bringing down the heat inside the body. No other cereal has the same cooling property as barley. Barley can reduce body hear and wash out the infection from bladder. As you continuously drink barley water you body is cooled and the bacteria causing infection is washed out from the body. In certain Indian cities and villages where there is extreme heat in summer people even eat barley rice for lessening body heat. Barley makes stomach and body cool.

Barley is the best home remedy for urinary tract infection in pregnant women

In pregnancy urinary infection is difficult to be treated. Not many antibiotics are safe during pregnancy. Certain mild antibiotics that are safe and are used for urinary infection in pregnancy are not effective. Two medicines my doctor prescribed for my urinary infection during pregnancy was not effective for me. Finally I started drinking barley water. Barley water is also the best for people who use hormone tablets. Barley brings no side effects and cures urinary infection effectively.

Drinking barley water daily? What are the health benefits?

Drinking barley water daily would keep your urinary tract and kidney free from infections. IT would also save you from heat.

Urinary infection for children, barley the best home remedy

Children easily get urinary infection. Give them plenty of barley water. If they don’t like the taste of barley water, add little lime juice to it and give them. Barley would clear the infection in 2 days.

Barley is reputed to cure all sorts of diseases including cancer, so I wouldn't be surprised if you also recommend this to anyone with UTI. This gives a great hope for those who are suffering from it. So can you drink this anytime of the day, or there is a limit to that (like a medicine which you take it with the prescribed dosage)?

      Voted up and useful.

Is it ok to put some winter melon in the barley water? My child doesn't like the taste of barley and I'm worried that winter melon will have an effect to her.
