People always ask me what the "trick" is to getting in shape. While there is no "get fit quick" scheme that will instantly get you to your ideal figure, there are a few small things you can do to help get yourself headed in the direction of building a healthier lifestyle. These tips are not the only things that you can do to be healthier, but are a few simple things that can act as a gateway to healthier habits.

All over the internet, you will find sites advertising products that claim to get you fit with some quick simple trick. No matter what they might claim, I'm here to tell you that whatever "get fit quick" product they are advertising is just a waste of your money. Their only goal is to get you to spend your money.

What Can I Do?

With all of the false advertisement in the industry, it is very easy to get swept up in all of the promises. Although they promise results in X amount of days by using their products or programming, it is not actually as difficult as you may think to live a healthier lifestyle and become a fitter version of yourself.

So What Next?

The number one thing to remember about all these fitness influencers advertising all these products, is that they are being paid by those companies to make sales. Those discounts codes are used to track how many sales they bring to the company so they can get their check cut.

It's not hopeless though. Even without these products, you can make simple changes to your everyday routine to steer yourself in a healthier direction.

I know, I know, it's the most obvious statement I could have made.

Now I don't mean that you need to go out this weekend and run a marathon if that's not something you're already used to. What I mean by this, is that you should consider making the small changes in your routine to force yourself to not take the shortcuts.

Here are a few suggestions.

  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator
  • Take the long way while getting around the office
  • Park at the far end of the parking lot

One of the main things that you can do to help cleanse your system, with the added bonus of helping you drop a couple quick pounds, is to increase your water intake. A general amount to use as a minimal starting point would be 1 gallon per day. Once you get used to drinking a minimum of 1 gallon per day, you can begin to increase from there.

There are so many benefits to drinking more water, so why not do the simple things that can help improve your quality of life.

  • Clearer pores
  • Cleaner digestive system
  • Weight loss
  • Overall better feeling

Step 3: Make Smarter Food Decisions

Now by this I don't mean that you need to go on a salad only diet, or eat nothing but plain chicken and brown rice. What I mean by this, is that you actively think about what you are putting inside your body. Do you really need that second dessert? That fifth slice of pizza? That third doughnut? Think about the choices you are making, and how they will effect your body.

The journey to a healthier lifestyle is a journey of moderation. Yes you can still splurge and eat your favorite dishes every once in a while, just remember not to go overboard with it. Portion control is a major key to succeeding in staying consistent with your weight loss goals.

If you are looking to create a super fit looking body for yourself, these three tips are definitely not the only things that need to be done. In fact, these tips are simply a gateway to forming better habits. Once you start making the better decisions, you can begin to take these steps to the next level and build yourself a better body to go along with your newly created healthy lifestyle.
