50 Shades of Weight?

50 shades of weight is a weight train that never stops. Whatever weight goal you set for yourself is your place on the train.

Society has established an ideal weight for us all and we are crazy enough to buy into it. The skinny girls and skinny models want us to believe that being thin and wearing a size 1 or 2 is in. It's not! The big chicks, plus size models want us to believe that fat is in. It's not! Being at a healthy weight is in.

My BMI is telling me I'm two Oreo cookies away from being considered overweight! What the heck! Those calculations are really jacked up. When I look in the mirror I love what I see. So is it true beauty is in the eye of the beholder? Yes it is! We are all beautiful. We are all fabulous! We are women, sisters and we should be holding each other up not putting each other down. We've got to be comfortable in our own skin. All choices have consequences so we need to start taking responsibility for ourselves. Decide where you want to be on the 50 shades of weight train and make it happen.

In order to change your life, you have to change your mind. Anyone with the right attitude can lose weight. The math is easy.
Calories Out > Calories In = Weight Loss
You have to burn more calories than you eat in order to lose weight or to even maintain your current weight.

Eating and exercise go hand in hand. When and what you eat can be important to how you feel when you exercise. Maintaining a healthy weight is crucial to good health and a happy and active life-style. Make changes mentally and physically. Devote time to fitness and nutrition. The 3 Day Diet: Warning You May Lose 10 lbs.

3 Day Diet

First Day
Breakfast
½ cup Grapefruit or juice
1 slice toast
2 teaspoons peanut butter
black coffee or tea
Lunch
½ cup tuna or chicken
1 slice toast or cheese
black coffee or tea
Dinner
2 slices any type meat (3 oz) or small steak broiled
1 cup string beans
1 cup beets or carrots
1 small apple
1 cup vanilla ice cream

Second Day
Breakfast

1 egg (any way you like it)
1/2 banana
1 slice toast
black coffee or tea
Lunch
1 cup cottage cheese Or 1/2 cup tuna
5 saltine crackers
1 diet soft drink (12 oz)
Dinner
2 hot dogs (no bun)
1 cup broccoli or cabbage
1 cup carrots
½ banana
1/2 cup vanilla ice cream

Third Day
Breakfast
5 saltine crackers
1 slice cheddar cheese
1 small apple
black coffee or tea
Lunch
1 hardboiled egg
1 slice toast
½ cup tuna
1 diet soft drink (12 oz)
Dinner
1 cup tuna or chicken or turkey
1 cup beets or carrots
1 cup cauliflower or greens
½ cantaloupe or banana
½ cup vanilla ice cream

My sister gave me this diet six years ago. She found it on the internet and it worked for both of us. Supposedly it came from the American Heart Association. When I research I do see many versions of it on the internet. I have passed it along to family and friends and they all love it.

Salt and pepper may be added, but no other seasonings. Where no quantity is given use common sense. This diet is to be used 3 days at a time. Eat normally for 4 days, then start back on the 3 day diet. No snacking between meals and drink plenty of water. The claim is you can lose 10 lbs in 3 days and up to 40 lbs in a month. See if it will work for you. It can't hurt to try something new.

A no excuse exercise is a workout you can do without any equipment. Examples are: Push-ups, Sit-ups, Jumping Jacks, Running, Walking and Lunges.

There are hundreds of foods that are unhealthy for us, but we have to eat. Here is my top ten list of foods to avoid.

These 15 foods are called negative calorie foods because they burn more calories during digestion then they contain. So the next time you go shopping add some of these to your cart. They make great snacks and can be added to your healthy meal plan.

Let's Live a Long Healthy Life

We have to talk about the health issues of being over weight and underweight. We all want to live past our 40's don't we? Weight control is critical in reducing your risks of so many diseases including heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. I've known a lot of people who started deteriorating in their 40's because of their not so healthy lifestyles. Let's not do that to ourselves. Losing weight does take time, work and some dedication. Establish where you want to be on the 50 shades of weight train and make it happen.
