UTI Infection in Pregnant Women

A UTI is a fairly common type of infection in pregnant women. If you are pregnant or nursing, speak with your doctor before using any kind of medication for a UTI. While sambong does not have any serious side effects in women who are not pregnant or nursing, you should always speak with a medical practitioner before using any type of herbal medication which can affect your baby.

If a bladder infection is left untreated, the infection can become worse and start to affect the kidneys. The hormonal changes and other changes which occur in a woman's body during pregnancy put her at greater risk of developing a kidney infection.

How Do You Get a UTI and How Can You Prevent It?

Whether you are male or female, bacteria from your skin can get into your urinary tract and cause an infection. People who drink a lot of water tend to flush out these bacteria from their system.

If you tend to hold your urine for a long time or don't drink tea, soup, juices or other liquids regularly during your day, you put yourself at a higher risk of developing a UTI. Drinking lots of fluids, juices like pomegranate and cranberry juice helps. If you are a woman, wiping from front to back and avoiding spermicidal gels, are steps which can all help to prevent UTIs.

This blend of herbs helps to prevent UTIs and kill the germs in the urinary tract. If you have been having UTIs over a long period, it may help to switch from baths to showers. Using plain, unscented soaps can also help.

HARMONY URINARY TRACT & BLADDER SUPPORT by Eu Natural provides immediate relief - Reviews

"Urinary track infections every six months has caused many problems in my life. So when I saw this product I figured that I had nothing to lose. I have been taking this product for three days now. I know that doesnt seem like that that amount of time would make that big of a difference, I but I swear on everything that it has. I just feel different and I have noticed a great change in my urine and the way I feel. Surprisingly there is no cranberry in it, which is what I thought is what you used to get rid of a urinary track infection or at least maintain a healthy urinary tract, but i did a little research on the ingredients in the product before taking it ( I didnt want to stick just anything in my body). So found that both D-Mannose and Hibiscus Flower works wonders for the urinary tract."

Sambong Herb Health Benefits

What is Sambong?

Sambong is known by its scientific name, Blumea balsamifera. This herb doesn't usually grow taller than around 3 meters in height and is valued for its leaves, which have several medicinal benefits. This hardy plant thrives in a tropical climate. Its leaves have a smell like camphor and can be used either dried or fresh.

How is Sambong Tea Made?

Sambong tea is easy to make once you have access to the leaves. Pour hot water over the leaves and left them steep for a few minutes, then have your tea. If you are suffering from a urinary tract infection, have a cup of sambong tea 3 or 4 times a day. Sambong is also prepared as a nutraceutical in 250 mg and 500mg tablets.

Benefits of Sambong Tea Leaves for UTI and Kidney

Sambong leaves are helpful in flushing the urinary tract. This way, by drinking sambong tea, men and women can help to get rid of microorganisms that can lead to infections in the bladder or elsewhere in the urinary tract.

Sambong helps to reduce the size of kidney stones. While using sambong to get rid of kidney stones and improve the health of your kidneys, ensure that you are monitored by your doctor. Your doctor can test for improvement in kidney function and also let you know when kidney stones have been completely removed from your body.

Since sambong induces urination, you should speak to your doctor about using it if you are already on another diuretic. Since sambong is a diuretic, you can expect to see changes in the frequency with which you urinate while you are using it. It is always better to first observe the effect that diuretics like sambong have on your body over a weekend or on a day when your schedule is not extremely hectic.

Other Health Benefits of Sambong Leaves- Blood Pressure

Since sambong induces urination, it also helps to get extra sodium out of the blood. An excessive amount of sodium is often linked to an increase in blood pressure. By removing sodium from the blood, sambong helps to stabilize or lower the blood pressure.

If you suffer from hypertension or are on blood pressure medication, speak to your doctor before using sambong as a herbal remedy for blood pressure. Your doctor can advise you on how to use sambong alongside any lifestyle changes and medication that you may be using to keep your blood pressure at recommended levels.

Other Health Benefits of Sambong Leaves- Oral Pain Relief

Since sambong leaves have a strong smell of camphor, those who come across it may think of pain relievers. Sambong is quite effective at relieving pain in the gums and is often used to help get rid of pain by people who have had procedures done at the dentist.

      Hi Peachy,

Thanks for your question. I know women have had success with using herbal remedies to treat UTIs. They are fairly common, especially among women who have recently been married.

Doctors always advise that women drinks lots of water to help flush the urinary tract. It is also important to not make a habit of holding urine in for extremely long periods. For example, some people hold their urine in all day while at work. That is not healthy.
