Is Chemotherapy The Only Form Of Cancer Treatment?

For years we have been told that Chemotherapy is the only way to cure cancer. Chemotherapy cures cancer by eliminating rapidly dividing cells but this therapy is often involved with some side effects such as hair loss, fatigue and in some cases infertility. Additionally, chemotherapy helps in treating cancer during the initial stages, but is not exactly effective in the long run. Due to these very reasons many people out there are looking for alternative cancer treatments. Johns Hopkins university has come up with some findings which they feel might be alternative ways to cure cancer. Read on to know more...

Why Chemotherapy Is Not Always Effective...

  1. Your immune system tends to weaken because of chemical treatments like chemotherapy. This in turn can lead to various harmful allergies and health complications.
  2. Chemotherapy can ultimately lead to cancer cell mutations and these cells are then developed in such a way that they become immune to treatments.

Cancer Cells In Our Body...

Cancer cells generally appear in a person's body around 6-10 times in his/her lifetime.

Cancer Cells Are Present In Everyone!

Did you know that almost every person (yes, even you!) has cancer cells in their body? These cells tend to remain hidden from view until they have multiplied to around a billion. After cancer treatments like chemotherapy, these cancer cells diminish. When you hear a doctor tell his patient that there are no more cancer cells in his body, this generally means that the cancer cells have not reached to a number which is detectable.

So If Everyone Has Cancer Cells, Why Don't We All Get Cancer?

If you have a strong immune system then cancer cells are prevented from multiplying. Proper exercise and a healthy diet plays a very important role in boosting your immune system. Reduce junk food and increase intake of healthy food. Fresh fruit and vegetable juices should be consumed instead of drinking sugar-filled soft drinks. Weight bearing has been proven to be an effective way of boosting your immune system.

A person develops cancer when there are deficiencies with respect to nutrition. In some cases people get cancer because of hereditary reasons, but mostly it is due to an unhealthy lifestyle.

How To Deal With Nutritional Deficiencies

  • Eat healthy food.
  • Reduce intake of processed food.
  • Reduce intake of food items high on sugar.
  • Eat a lot of greens.
  • Drink lots of fresh fruit and vegetable juices.
  • Eat health supplements to improve your immune system.

Food Items That Can Cause Cancer Cells To Multiply

Recent cancer updates by Johns Hopkins implied that if you reduce intake of certain type of food items, you are more likely to reduce the chance of cancer cells multiplication.

  • If you are into taking sugar substitutes then you should be aware that most of them contain a harmful ingredient called Aspartame. Instead look for a natural sugar substitute like Xylitol.
  • Instead of table salt, use sea salt or lite salt. The white coloring of table salt is not exactly good for health.
  • Cancer cells feed on mucus which is produced by dairy products like milk. You can starve cancer cells by stopping intake of milk and using a substitute like unsweetened soy milk.
  • Cut down on your meat intake. This is necessary because a meat diet is acidic which feeds cancer cells. Moreover, meat needs a lot of digestive enzymes in order to be digested properly. Undigested meat tends to be left back in the intestine and this leads to unwanted toxic buildup. You can increase your fish intake instead.
  • Eat a lot of fresh vegetables. Also increase your intake of fresh fruit juices. These help in boosting the immune system and enhance growth of healthy cells.
  • Instead of coffee, tea and other caffeine containing beverages, opt for green tea.
  • Avoid tap water or distilled water. Instead drink pure filtered water.
  • Take health supplements to boost your immune system.
  • Live a stress-free life -- As you know, cancer cells tend to thrive on acidic environments. By putting your body through a lot of stress, you are subjecting your body to an acidic environment. Take it easy and learn to relax.
  • By exercising daily you are starving cancer cells because they cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment.

News Channel 15 Investigates Plastic Wrap and Cancer

Why Heating Food In Plastic Containers Is A Bad Idea

I have seen many people heating food in their microwave using plastic containers. Did you know that this is harmful for your health especially if you are heating up meaty items? A combination of heat + plastic + meat can release harmful elements like dioxins which are responsible for various types of cancer especially breast cancer. Cancer cells absolutely love dioxins! In order to prevent the formation of dioxins, you can take the following precautions -

  • Do not use plastic containers in the microwave! Instead using glass containers which are microwavable.
  • Do not put your water bottles inside the freezer.
  • Do not use plastic wraps to cover food when using the microwave.

By keeping these tips in mind you can control the cancer cells within your body and prevent them from multiplying at a rapid rate.
