Best Candida Cleanse

Candida albicans is a type of yeast.  Not the kind you make bread with, but a type of yeast that lives in the human body.  This yeast in small quantities is harmless and helps with normal physiological function, but sometimes candida albicans goes into overdrive and the result is a condition called candidiasis.  This overgrowth can happen for any number of reasons and the result could be something as common as thrush or a vaginal yeast infection.  While these conditions are annoying they’re also easily treated and nothing to be particularly concerned about, but sometimes a candida yeast overgrowth will become chronic.  This is significantly more troublesome and difficult to treat.

Candida Causes
There are a number of reasons for candida overgrowth. Antibiotics might be the culprit. Unfortunately antibiotics are widely overused in medical practice today. Our body doesn’t need an antibiotic to fight off a cold or a minor infection. The use of medication really only compromises the immune system. If one’s body never has to fight illness without the crutch of medications, it doesn’t get stronger. In fact using antibiotics repeatedly could result in infections that are resistant to such drugs.

Antibiotics eliminate good and bad bacteria. Yes, some bacteria is good. The good stuff helps keep the bad in check. It’s all a matter of balance. If the body’s natural balance is disturbed by some medication such as an antibiotic, candida can reproduce rapidly. Birth control pills, steroids, and antacids will also contribute to the proliferation of candida.

Your immune system also helps keep candia albicans in check. If you’re in a generally weakened condition your body may not have the needed reserves to prevent a yeast overgrowth. People with chronic illnesses like cancer or AIDS are susceptible to systemic candidiasis, a serious widespread yeast infection.

Some foods feed candida. Usually the problem is caused by something else, but a poor diet can help candida to proliferate, and if the problem already exists it will certainly make the overgrowth worse. Sugar, refined flour, yeast, and all fruits should be avoided in a candida diet. Alcoholic beverages are full of sugar and will feed the candida. A change in your diet is one of the most immediate ways to begin the detox process.

Stress is another factor. Stress affects the body in a couple of ways. First it impairs your immune system.

We’ve already talked about how that encourages the proliferation of yeast, but stress also causes an increase in cortisol levels in the blood stream. Cortisol is a hormone that triggers an increase in blood sugar. This creates a very hospitable environment for candida albicans.

Candida Symptoms
The candida yeast itself is not so much the problem. The real problem is the waste secreted by the yeast. Yeast is a living organism, and like other living organisms it feeds and excretes waste. The waste is made up of acetaldehyde and ethanol, both of which are toxic to the human body, These by-products make it hard for the body to absorb nutrients and they starve cells of much needed oxygen. As these build up in one’s system the symptoms will progress.

Candida symptoms are many and varied. It can be hard to pinpoint the cause of the clusters of symptoms that some sufferers experience. Yeast infections, jock itch, and thrush are some of the most overt symptoms of candidias, but a yeast overgrowth can also cause significant gastrointestinal disorders like gas or bloating. Candidiasis is often misdiagnosed as irritable bowel syndrome.

While those symptoms might be expected with a candida overgrowth there are many others that are not. There could be neurological symptoms like brain fog, blurry vision and migraines or behavioral changes including depression, moodiness and suicidal feelings. Asthmatic symptoms could be a sign of yeast overgrowth as well as symptoms that would seem to point to an allergy of some sort like itchy eyes and a runny nose. The symptoms are sometimes so unrelated that doctors as well as patients are confused. Candidias can be a difficult disease to diagnose.

Treatment Options For Candidiasis
The first step in treating candidiasis is to adopt an anti-yeast diet. As we discussed earlier you must eliminate sugar, yeast and carbohydrates from your diet. This type of diet can be hard to follow and requires a tremendous amount of commitment, but there are plenty of healthy, delicious foods one can still enjoy.

Eat lots of healthy vegetables. Especially brassicas like cabbage, kale, brussels sprouts and turnips. Brassicas actually inhibit the growth of yeast. Avoid starchy veggies like potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn and beans. The later have too much sugar and will only hinder attempts at detox. Fruits are also not permitted at the beginning of a cindida cleanse, but may be added in moderation later.

Proteins like chicken, fish and beef have no sugar at all and are very filling as well. Be advised that you should look for organic meat. Most conventionally raised livestock is treated with antibiotics. This keeps the animals healthy throughout the commercial farming process, but it shows up in traces later in the products you find in the supermarket. Remember, antibiotics are likely what caused the candida overgrowth to begin with.

Wheat and Rye are to be avoided, but that doesn’t mean you have to eliminate all grains from your diet. Wild rice and brown rice are both non-glutinous and permitted in a candida detox diet. Quinoa is another lesser known gluten-free grain. Try oatmeal for breakfast.

Finally, eat plenty of yogurt with live cultures. The live cultures will help replenish the good bacteria in your digestive system. These foods will provide very little for the candida to eat, while still giving your body all the nourishment it needs. This will go a long way toward strengthening your immune system and giving your body the resources necessary to knock down the candida overgrowth.

Next you should consider supplementing your diet with natural anti-fungals. There are quite a few of these to choose from. Oregano oil, grapefruit seed extract and black walnut are widely used to treat candidiasis. If these are not available to you or if you have some adverse reaction try garlic, cloves, or goldenseal.

Finally you must replenish the population of good bacteria and yeast in your gut. Yogurt with live cultures will do this to some degree, but you should consider taking a good quality probiotic supplement. Probiotics will introduce large colonies of beneficial bacteria that can crowd out the candida yeast. Choose a probiotic supplement with an enteric coating. This coating will protect the probiotic colonies as they travel through the digestive system, otherwise stomach acids will kill the beneficial bacteria before ithey even reaches their destination.

There is no fast and easy solution to a candida yeast overgrowth. When a diagnosis is finally made the treatment requires a great deal of commitment and consistency. Every body is different and your treatment should be as individual as you are. A holistic physician can recommend a program that will work best for your needs. If an anti-fungal supplement is part of your treatment begin with a small dose and increase gradually. This will help negate the effects of die-off syndrome. A condition that can occur when the yeast begin to die in quantity. The results are toxic and can cause symptoms that are even worse than the original illness. It takes some time to heal, but you could see signs of improvement in as little as four weeks. The key is to stick to the candida diet.
