Why Do People Get Depressed?

What is Depression and why do people get depressed? It is generally referred to as an emotional state in which a person feels very sad. It could be caused from too much dreary weather, loneliness, lack of things to do that are enjoyable, abuse, failing at many things tried and a number of other reasons.
