My neighbor’s daughter used to have asthma attack during her early childhood. But proper care and food control helped the child get delivered from asthma easily. She is now a normal healthy child of 7 years age. Asthma in babies can be controlled if you give proper care. Babies are more prone to asthma as they easily get chest congestion. As phlegm accumulates in chest they encounter breathing difficulties. Asthma can be tackled to a certain extent if you control baby’s food and make her follow certain practices.

My neighbor’s child was made to make changes that helped her come out of asthma problems. Children who are suffering from asthma and breathing difficulties should not be given cow’s milk. It is better to avoid all types of milk for children who suffer from asthma. Products of milk (all dairy products) should also be avoided. Avoiding these foods for few months would heal would kid completely from asthma.

  • Milk (both cow’s milk and soya milk)
  • Body cooling fruits and foods

If you can control babies’ food you baby will easily recover from the difficulties of asthma. Giving cold food and water would also trigger asthma. Right diet would help your child come out of asthma. I would suggest the Indian way of dealing with asthma in kids.

Warming body with body warming foods is the best way to cure asthma in children. Children should be given body warming foods compulsorily in winter. Body warming foods to eat in winter. Here are some of the foods that would warm your child’s body.

  • Chicken – ½ cup
  • Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • Pepper powder – a pinch
  • Garlic – 5 cloves
  • Ginger – 1 small piece
  • Cardamom – 3 or 4
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Water – 2 cups

Boil the ingredients in water and keep in low flame for half an hour. Chicken soup for Kids is ready. Do not add tomatoes and curry leaves. They are body cooling vegetables.

      Hi Dhannyya,

      Very useful info for asthma. My daughter is also suffering from asthma, we are trying our level best to relieve her from that suffering but in vain. i stopped milk but as a substitute i am giving her raagi soup every alternative day as she needs calcium also for this growing stage else she may develop some other health problem. pl suggest if i can continue this.

      hi. my daughter is just 3yrs old and has asthama. in.spite of medication we.were not happy. but these tips helped vearly to my child. it should be followed by all who are.suffering from asthama then the socalled asthama will flee from u. thanks
