Big Berkey water filters are economical for home use

Updated on October 17, 2011

If you are looking for a great way to stay healthy and provide your family with good water to drink, you might have turned to bottled water in the past. Bottled water is very popular, because it claims to be healthy and isn't that expensive. However, as bottled water becomes more and more popular, there are more and more cases in which bottled water contains nothing but tap water.

People are always looking to make money, and in many situations, healthy-minded people are taken advantage of. A study, done by NRDC took 1000 bottles of water with 103 different brand names, and studied them. While most of the water was found to be of a good quality, there were some brands that were contaminated. In fact, about 1/3rd of the water showed that there was some level of contamination. This included synthetic chemicals, arsenic, and other bacteria. In fact, studies have shown that most of the time, bottled water is no better for you than regular tap water. Yet, people continue to spend money on bottled water, thinking that they are doing their best to be healthy.

It's hard to tell what types of bottled waters will actually contain the water that is as pure and good as the bottle claims. Therefore turning to another source for your clean water seems like a good idea. Big Berkey water filters are not only safe to use in all situations, but they provide you with good quality water. They are also economical for home use. This means that you can use your Big Berkey portable water filter right from home, and provide your family with the quality of water that they deserve.

In fact, staying away from bottled water and using your Big Berkey water filter at home is probably the best way that you can have clean and trustworthy water. Even in the United States, where the FDA is responsible for bottled water, lots of problems happen. In fact, while the FDA regulates bottled water, it doesn't even look at water that is bottled and sold within the same state, which accounts for about 65 percent of the bottled water in the US. This means that you might never know what you're drinking, and the FDA won't either. Your Big Berkey water filter can help you provide yourself and your family with safe and clean water to drink, without having to rely on bottled water that you might not even be able to trust.

The high tech silver impregnated ceramic elements also feature a nominal filtration efficiency which effectively blocks pathogens that are in the water. The filter clarifies the water, blocks and gets rid of any bacteria found in the water, and allows you to have clean and safe water to drink at any time.

Not only is your Big Berkey water filter going to provide you with great water, it is also one of the most economical choices that you can make. It attaches to your current water supply, and even works well on private wells. The water filter has been proven to eliminate diseases, such as cholera and typhoid, and has also been used with emergency and aid relief organizations in order to provide them with fresh and clean water. If it works that well for others, it can work for you as well.

Once you have it, you have it and it will continue to work. It can provide you with safe drinking water in your home from sources like lakes and streams, so no matter where you are, you can get clean water. Advanced Water Filters

The fact that the FDA doesn't regulate drinking water is a little scary. Plus using so many plastic bottles isn't good for the environment, so going the filtered route is the best way. Financially and environmentally.

I think it would take us years and years to reach 60,000 gallons...so it sounds like a great investment. At something like a gallon a day of drinking water, that would take a family of four 10,000+ days, right? Which is way more than 20 years...at least that's how the math is coming out in my head, I haven't done all the figures on paper. But that's really cool anyway, even if it wasn't quite that long.

Even getting a good water filtration system that gave us pure water for 10 years would be great. It's way more economical than paying for that much bottled water (!!!!) and it's also a lot healthier, I'll bet. Bottled water is pretty much only tap water after all, I don't think they have terribly good filters at some of those companies.
