Black and White Motivational Exercise Posters
Motivation is always black and white, you either have it or you don't. Staying focused, staying motivated is a skill that can be learned. We are not born with motivation, we are born with a choice. We can choose the voices and the thoughts in our head. Health clubs are now realizing the importance of motivational posters. Take most any AnyTime Fitness location and you will find that it typically has a blackboard with at least one motivational quote if not a wall full of motivational quotes. The best teachers are often ones who surround themselves with visual reminders of the subjects that they teach - you can still picture that teacher and often you can readily recall the many posters in their room.
For you see, the images that we choose, the quotes we chant in our head can change our lives, because we have the ability to inspire and lead not just others but first and foremost ourselves.
Motivational quotes and posters abound in the marketplace and on the world wide web. What makes this article special? What service does this hub provide to fellow hubbers? It is plain and simple, it is black and white motivational posters. The best quotes, the best graphics - all finely crafted for the purpose of leaving an indelible impression that leaves a visual chant in your mind.

Life is About Triumph Over Failure
Life is about triumph over failure. We work our muscles to failure in order to build our muscles. We take our cardio work out up a level in order to improve our stamina. In business, there rarely is an entrepreneur who did not fail, here are a few examples:
- Trump filed bankruptcy four times
- Henry Ford was broke five times
- Mark Cuban didn't take a vacation for 7 years
- RH Macy failed 7 times
- Barbara Corcoran stated it isn't about failing, it is about how quickly you recover
And yes, fitness, too, is all about working your muscles to failure. Fitness is about taking your cardio to a new level, extending that stretch or upping the weight by 2-5 lbs.
Fitness Has No Grey Area
Fitness of all the disciplines showcases your dedication and determination. Fitness has no grey area, there is no cheating, the body will respond - it truly is a black and white result. Likewise, I feel we need our motivational photos in our mind, in our gym, in our health club and in our home to be all about black and white.

Does fitness have any grey for you?
It Is What You Think That Matters - Set Your Priorities On the Straight and Narrow
At the end of the day, all that matters is what you believe - this is what really matters. The thoughts and pre-conceptions that we carry with us set the foundation for where we set our priorities.
If we follow a rigid plan for our nutrition and our exercise, we know we will see results. The key is keeping this front and center and not allow the grey area to invade, we must remember the key to health is consistency.
When doctors prescribe medicine, most of us follow that daily dosage to a tee, yet when it comes to our nutrition are you exercising daily? Are you eating fish once a week, beans three times a day and following the nutritional rules for a colorful plate of food at each meal? Do you know your resting heart rate? Do you know how many minutes/hours of cardio you achieve each week? Do you have specific goals for your food intake? Do you set specific bench marks for your muscles including your cardio? If not, why not?
Energy and persistence conquer all things. -Benjamin Franklin
Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity. -Oprah Winfrey
If there were ever a time to dare,
To make a difference
To embark on something worth doing
It is now.
Not for any grand cause, necessarily –
But for something that tugs at your heart
Something that is worth your aspiration
Something that is your dream.
You owe it to yourself
To make your days count.
Have fun. Dig deep. Stretch.
That things worth doing
Seldom come easy,
There will be times when you want to
Pack it up and call it quits
Those times tell you
That you are pushing yourself
And that you are not afraid to learn by trying.
Because with an idea,
Determination and the right tools,
You can do great things.
Let your instincts, your intellect
And let your heart guide you.
Believe in the incredible power
Of the human mind
Of doing something that makes a difference
Of working hard
Of laughing and hoping
Of lasting friends
Of all the things that will cross your path
The start of something new
Brings the hope of something great.
Anything is possible
There is only one you
And you will pass this way but once.

Beyond Posters - Motivational Music
This year I have promised myself to add music to my workouts. Yes, I am sad to report that I do not have this already in my personal routines. For my professional presentations, I would never have group instruction without music and yet I deprive myself for my own personal workout.
Take care of yourself and ALWAYS and yes I am shouting, ALWAYS include music in your workouts.

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

John Wayne perhaps said it best - "if everything isn't black and white, I say, "Why the hell not?". I know life has allot of grey matter and we get bogged down in the details but really when you step back fitness is black and white.
Why the medical community has not embraced fitness and prescribed exercises for all of their hospital patience is beyond belief. We have known for decades and yet the professional medical community continues to promote elevators and not stairs, doesn't prescribe daily exercises or stretches unless they are called therapy.
Fitness as a health item is black and white and we as a society cannot advance and take care of our families unless we come together and demand best practices.

Gonda Building - Humanistic Building
"Cesar Pelli was the design architect. He is hailed internationally for his ability to create humanistic buildings, even on a massive scale. Many of the works of art have been made possible by the generosity of Mayo benefactors. They include an exhibit of glass art by Dale Chihuly.."
Grade Medical Buildings on Standards of Health
Since we are on the subject of black and white and the fitness as a medicine, I wish there was a "building grade: to distinguish those office buildings and large medical where stairs are encouraged.
Yes, we have ADA standards and I applaud that effort but what about mandating healthy buildings? Buildings with natural sun light, with windows that open or have ozonated purification; buildings that encourage stairs and where the stair cases are of the same high grade as the rest of the building and where the staircase sun light.
One of the best examples is the staircase in Rochester, Minnesota. It is a staircase in the Gonda building and the center staircase is large and extravagant but then there is a smaller staircase all made of marble that is wide and well lit. It is an architectural wonder and serves to lighten the emotional load to those fighting for their life. Yet this building sends an important black and white message that fitness and movement matter.
