Build a Better Body: The Finishing Touches
Step 5: The Finishing Touches- focusing on skin, hair, and all the little things that will make our palace complete!
Moisture is key! Dry skin looks unhealthy, be sure to keep your skin moistened and looking fresh. Use a nighttime moisturizer before bed and a light moisturizer with SPF 30 during the day. Nothing makes for bad looking skin like sun spots either, so be sure to use SPF 30, and try a self tanning to give yourself a nice glow. Exfoliate 1-2 times per week, any less and dry/dead skin will build up and make it look unhealthy, anymore and you may risk damaging your skin.
Again, moisture is key! Dry hair looks unhealthy. If your hair is especially dry try using hot oil, or as I like to do- do a deep conditioning at home, soak hair in hot water, add a generous amount of conditioner, leave on for 20 minutes and than rinse with cool water. Use spray-in/leave-in conditioner before you swim or visit the beach to protect hair from chlorine and salt which quickly damage hair.
Add some sparkle, weather it be on a shirt, or in your lotion, or on your show- make yourself noticed. (Remember though, a little goes a long way, so don't over do it!) But sparkling is a great way to show off what you have worked so hard on.
And don't forget the most important thing- CONFIDENCE!! Keep your head up high, whether you are on day one of your workout plan or day 90, you are working hard and you should be proud of yourself!!
Remember, you will build the body you want eventually if you're patient enough and you refuse to quit. And set your goals high! Create a fantastic blueprint. Michelangelo said, "The greatest danger is not that we set our goals too high and miss them, the greatest danger is that we set our goals too low and we reach them." There are very few unrealistic goals; only goals with unrealistic deadlines.
So keep laying those bricks, every day, one at a time, and do not become discouraged (and remember, all major construction project have some set backs, you need to work through them and push on!) Eventually, you will build yourself a palace.
