Self-Liberation from Socially Induced Spell of Can'titis

These Two Epochs of Our Ingenious Creativity Could Remind Us how - despite of It - We Have Hardly Evolved as Humans

What an Embarrassing Disparity!

Whether we look at incredible architectural marvels of the ancient Egypt or at the ultra modern Dubai, we just can't escape the nagging impression of a disparity between what we can do and our condition. By "condition" I mean the state of our overall wellbeing and the level of our achieved capacity to produce harmony within ourselves and with each other.

The craziest part of our conclusion would have something to do with the fact that at any point back in history we actually had that unused potential to match, or even outdo those architectural wonders with achievements in every area of our condition.

Indeed, we could outlive the oldest person ever recorded for his "phenomenal longevity", and we could also live that reality of coexistence only dreamed of in the story of Shangri-La. So why don't we?

As Individuals We May Speak as Geniuses - and as Societies We Deliver Mostly a Historically Same Collectivistic Nonsense
As Individuals We May Speak as Geniuses - and as Societies We Deliver Mostly a Historically Same Collectivistic Nonsense

Rasputin's Eye of Society

Once I had to write a little thesis and I chose to title it in Latin : "Hypnosis Mater Civilisationis Est" (Hypnosis is mother of civilization). We might as well use the title for the central idea of everything what follows.

In a very distant history at one point someone must have discovered this very usable human characteristic of suggestibility, actually originating from that animalistic part of our nature. It's that sense of being intimidated while facing a much stronger opponent, of caving in, of submission, with a total surrender of will power.

It was equally effective in a tribal community of a jungle as it was during those mesmerizing speeches of Adolph Hither, or during speeches of presidential candidates which put the crowd of followers under a cheering spell.

Those wizards of advertisement are using it, and it's also obvious in those impressive holy buildings with masterfully arranged and highly suggestive interiors, enhanced by the aroma of burnt frankincense oil that lulls nervous system into relaxation and suggestible submission.

It Seems like We Feel the Best When Someone Else Is In Charge of Our Reasoning
It Seems like We Feel the Best When Someone Else Is In Charge of Our Reasoning
We Love Our Mental Slavery Enough to even Call It "Smart"
We Love Our Mental Slavery Enough to even Call It "Smart"

Voluntary Mental Slaves by Unconscious Choice

Right somewhere between the lines of these examples lies hidden answer to the above question: "Why can't we?" Also the question of why is the mankind suffering from this seemingly incurable pandemic of "can'titis" that reduces our capability to act out the best of our available potential.

Since every hypnosis is actually self-hypnosis, we practically volunteered to be mentally guided like a bunch of brainless sheep into these limitations. All that political, religious, and commercial Rasputins had to do was to convince us that we needed them to tell us what to think, feel and do. That highly controversial channeled entity Ramtha must have meant something valuable when he said: "If you want to be a genius - use your own mind".

Power of Comfort Zone

Our minds are so much in the grip of the social hypnotic influence that most of us would probably be scared of a new and unfamiliar de-hypnotized mentality. This miserable status quo is at least something that we know, and we want that security of our comfort zone no matter how much that "comfort" is hurting us.

Just like a chain smoker who is coughing his lungs out but dreading a life without his nicotine fix. So we don't allow ourselves to even start imagining that life of being happy, creative, strong-willed, and at peace.

"Mens Sana in Corpore Sano" (The Latin Proverb: "Healthy Mind in Healthy Body")
"Mens Sana in Corpore Sano" (The Latin Proverb: "Healthy Mind in Healthy Body")

Mental Freedom Means Health

One way or another this can'titis is an underlying cause of every sickness imaginable. It's all easy to understand when we remember that our immune system can successfully fight anything from hay fever to cancer - when it functions at its optimum.

Since immune system and nervous system are working closely to each other - by empowering or weakening each other - it can't be a mystery why we have an astronomical number of sick folks all over the globe. Low "spirits" - low vitality, it's as simple as that.

Except in a devoted spirituality (not religion), we hardly ever care to get in tune with our true potential, or our higher-self. Now and then we hear about a case of yet another spontaneous remission which makes the medical profession scratch behind ears in confusion, as it defies all medical prognoses.

By the virtue of a sheer love for life and persistent faith in recovery, certain individuals got attuned into their higher resources of their latent potential - resulting with some orange-size cancerous tumors shrinking overnight into nothing.

And that's so telling about what happens when we dismiss the verdicts of our limitations suggested by authorities and take our faith into our own hands, reclaiming our spirits, our minds, and our hearts.

Body Is Capable of Preventing Any Illness without Outside Help

Medical Consumers of Advertised Diseases

However, unless there is such a survival urgency coupled with a determined spirit, we are merely an individualized version of the society we live in, and whose indoctrinations about every aspect of life we assimilated making them our second nature.

In a certain jungle community of primitive folks there is a belief that if their witch doctor points a bone at one of them, he will die - and that actually happens. How far are we really advanced from them as we are falling for all medical and pharmaceutical advertisements of sicknesses. I hope you do realize that they are in the first place a "business", and every business has to advertise the "need" for their products.

As a result an average dude knows more today about possible health perils that might befall him "due to his fragile constitution" than any other in the history. It's not something to be proud of, as if a sign of "being well informed", but rather a sign of being well brainwashed.

For we are much stronger and more resilient than our medical and pharmaceutical establishments want us to believe; and much smarter than our political leaders are allowing us to believe; and much more god-like than our religious leaders want us to believe. "Believe" is the common thread in all what makes us limited. And I mean - hypnotic belief.

So, as the advertisement of another coming flu season is urging us - let us stand in that long lineup to get our precious flu shots. Without them we don't know how to survive, and sickness has become a "normal" part of life.

Only from Us Can Come that New Light Making Human Dignity Visible
Only from Us Can Come that New Light Making Human Dignity Visible

With Every Thinking Dude and Dudesse Waking Up

If by some miracle the world suddenly woke up from this nightmare, every soldier on earth would peel off that ugly skin called "uniform" and laugh in his leader's face when ordered to kill a totally unknown human being that had done nothing wrong to him.

And every voter would refuse to vote before a brand new party was formed with a humanistic agenda to work for the interests of all citizens, not just for that handful of the richest and most influential.

And every doctor would have decency to explain to his patients how his mind style and his life style, his belief system and his attitude all have to change, if he wants the underlying cause to be healed, not only symptoms.

And every elementary school would teach how to enhance the capacity for happiness, confidence, and ability to use one's own mind.

Armies would not exist, as there would be no enemies to fear - which in the past were always created by leaders, not by peoples who don't hate their neighbors, unless they are told to.

The global economy would bloom, based on mutual support and cooperation, rather than a bitter competitiveness propelled by ultra greed of the corporate establishment.

And so many other "outlandish" changes would result from man waking up from his nightmarish idiocy of confusing and weakening his brain and his body with that suggestive input from society that's against what is best in his nature. Our intuition is telling us that we are on a wrong path - so what's really holding us back to change it?

From ever People Have Been Portraying Gods in Human Form. If They Only Meant It.
From ever People Have Been Portraying Gods in Human Form. If They Only Meant It.

What Is more "Human"?

Well, some folks from the very bottom of that hypnotic crap pile are bound to call me a "New Age dreamer" or something. That's basically how every voice of hope gets labeled. "Get real." - they say - "Get down to earth, that's life and we are only humans".

Only humans? What humans? We are more like humanoid robots repeating our history of wars and every imaginable form of conflict, from inner psychological ones to global. Not satisfied with those, we are even entertaining ourselves with visions of inter-stellar wars, inspiring our kids with heroism of killings.

What is that mostly "human" in us? Our intuition is begging us to get closer to who we really are, and stop playing a faceless particle of society who can't think, feel, and act unless told how to - by those who are taking advantage of it.

We CAN.

We can be so much more, each one of us, but first we have got to face our truth - that we are alienated from that person in ourselves who believes and knows they can. As we yank ourselves from the hypnotic grip of the world's idiotic games advertised so well by the media, we'll make that first step in the direction that was predestined for our species.

Billybuc - There may be a handful of fully liberated humans on this planet, while the rest of us may, or may not be making an effort towards using more of our potential. Just knowing that there is more to me that is still waiting to be explored - gives me an additional passion to live.

It is this mystery of life, mystery of ourselves, that propels our spirituality into finding new patterns of experiencing and ultimately being. Have yourself a fabulous day, my friend, and thank you for nice commenting words. - Val

Ladyguitarpicker - Congratulations for defying the suggestive power of all those authoritative voices and liberating yourself into choosing what you want - and doing it! Looking around, don't you wish more people would follow your example?

What a fascinating read, Val. My wife suffers from cantitis...great idea person but convinced she could never accomplish her ideas and dreams. I'm just the opposite....although there have been times, for me, when I didn't give myself much of a chance before starting.....anyway, loved this article.

Hi ValKaras, When I grew up everyone would tell us what we could and never be able to do. I have just about done everything I was told I could not do.

Good morning Paula - Before you leave, let me congratulate you on your moving on with your interests and fun. Of course you CAN, you are one of those people who always COULD, and that's only one of the many reasons why I am delighted to call you "my friend". Visit again some time.

"Good Morning," Val....thought I would just pop in briefly to say "Hello," before I sign off for today. I recently made some adjustments to my every day living agenda! I've gone back to my Pre-HP days and am focusing much more on the "real life" stuff, that which is here in front of me needing to be accomplished. (Know what I mean?)

Of course my severe disillusionment with HP prompted my move to rearrange. I'm happy to be back at my busy life & all the activities I enjoy and have missed. Writing has to be put in it's place.

My little visit here is actually in sync with your interesting hub, Val.......Once again I prove to myself~~ I CAN!! We are free to do what we choose in this world and all we need is the motivation that comes from within!!

My allotted 30 minute HP time is nearly up....Take care amigo and see you soon!....Smile....Paula

Tebo - Just like you say, people are so quick to believe that they can't, never really challenging that false belief. Unfortunately, so many spend their whole life reduced to that self-image. Thank you for commenting.

People often carry with them those ideas that have been lodged in their minds and believe they can't do things. I often hear people say they notice how each decade they can do less due to aging, and I think to myself "If you keep telling yourself that it will be true!" Well written and spot on.

RJ Schwartz - Thank you for the nice comment. You are right, wherever we look, there are living examples of people functioning at a fraction of their real capacity, as if under a spell of "can'titis".

What a thought provoking piece - you've brought to light what should really seem like simplicity to most of us but we convince ourselves of our inability to rise up to the challenges of everyday life.

LOL!!! Lela....Yes! I agree. I not only told my sons they COULD do anything they set their mind to do.....I told them they WOULD!~~because "I said so & I'm the Mom aka the Boss!!" LOL They usually laughed, but I'm sure I got through to them in a lot of ways.

I learned pretty early in life that if you wait around for someone to do things for you, it will never get done! My favorite expression is "if you need a helping hand, just look down at the end of your arm".

Bob is very "can't" oriented. To this day! His family was like that, always telling him why he can't do this or that, never complimenting him on what he COULD do!. He'll never get over his "can'titis".

You should teach your children early that they CAN do things.

Val, A fascinating read with much that can be taken to heart and encourage some soul-searching by so many individuals.

I, for one, came into the world with a firm "I Can and I WILL," frame of mind. To encourage me further, my birth family was of this same mind set. My parents and older sibling were self-motivating, proactive, academic people. We supported one another in our endeavors and took pride in our achievements.

Our mother was always at least 2 steps ahead of the crowd in her individuality and a wonderful role model. Dad was our cheerleader in all we chose to do to better ourselves and help others.

I can appreciate the lessons you present.
